RE: *** NIT Tournament Gamethread ***
SMU will likely lose a heartbreaker at the buzzer. That would be the type of result to really crush our fanbase because Jankovich could reasonably argue that he hasn't lost the team as players don't make a 20 point comeback for a coach they don't care to play for. At the same time it would be more evidence that Jankovich simply isn't the coach to get it done at SMU. The administration and our big money donors would get a good excuse not to make a change and we are back to the same story the next season if not the next few years.

For the record, I want SMU to win this game and the tournament because I am convinced Jankovich is coming back no matter what so I want to win as much as possible.

I hesitate to criticize because I don't know what Houston will look like tomorrow but this conference showing is brutal so far. Smh.

That was such a Jankovich game though. I wish we could upgrade our coaching staff but instead I think he made the case for an extension because SMU was simply happy to be in the NIT.

Great effort to come back from a giant hole. Not so great to get down 30-9. I think the rust was still showing.

I feel like an ******* as I said Fire Jank at the buzzer and a player on the field looked up at me and was prepared to beat my ass.

I'd fire Jank too. He took a tremendous gamble holding this team out for a month.

Somehow, I don't think that was the first time somebody ever looked at you like that. Just a wild guess. 03-lmfao

I guess even a sleepwalking Tiger is dangerous. I am glad we won.

Yup. Boogie played well, just didn't score a lot of points. Lester was a glue guy, with a few crucial rebounds, hustle plays, and defensive stops that sealed the win.
