It can happen in a couple ways. The green uniforms are most likely the same ones as last year (notice it's the old gold rather than the ones on the white uniforms) and fade slightly from washing. (The cost to completely replace two entire sets of uniforms - jerseys and pants - is cost prohibitive for our budget). Also, as much as they try, helmet reconditioning companies can't match the colors exact, even if they have the correct color code. A reason for this is the molded color of the helmet shell can affect the way the painted color appears. (I noticed one of the lineman already had several paint chips flake off the helmet near the facemask and you can see the helmet is molded in a Green Bay Gold color.)
