How you figure that??? He was born and raised in Mobile. His story starts in Mobile, without Mobile, there is no Hank Aaron.
Then go ahead and spend $20M and build him a stadium and monument.

Plain and simple (for those that have a hard time understanding), Hank Aaron was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, where he learned how to play the game of baseball.
Way to make the narrative about you and not about where he broke he Home Run record, during the Civil Rights movement and settled for the rest of his life..

After having lived there for a few years (whew!), I can't imagine anyone "settling" in Atlanta.
The reason Henry Aaron stayed there was because of the moolah from the Braves organization.

I’m missing the joke. I thinks it’s wonderful that he is honored with a stadium and monument in his hometown and a stadium and monument in one of his professional homes and place of burial.

For sure, and I can say this , Mr. Aaron is one of many baseball greats to come out of Mobile. He, even more than the others stands tall in this town as a hero, that has had it's share of problems over the years. Young athletes look to him as a hero and their goal is to become as great as they can become. I've coached LLBB, Dixie Youth
and Babe Ruth ball a few dozen years and still their games.

The other baseball HOF members from Mobile are Satchel Paige, Billy Williams, Ozzie Smith, and Willie McCovey. A few years ago I read that Mobile has more HOF members than any city other than NY or LA. Per capita, no other city is even close. In addition, the '69 miracle Mets outfield included Tommie Agee and Cleon Jones, also both from Mobile. There are currently plans to build a MLB ‘Hall of Fame Courtyard' downtown that will feature life size bronze statues of each HOF'er.

Seriously man this is ridiculous. You are getting pissy because his home town, where he was getting paid to play baseball and was found by the Indianapolis Clowns and signed to play Negro League ball honors him?
He played more seasons in Milwaukee than Atlanta you probably think Milwaukee shouldn’t honor him either
Really not a good look.

The thread was about a certain subject and has become more about Mobile. I never said don't honor him elsewhere. But it's all good bro.
