If that's fine with your fans it's no skin off my back. But don't act like your Admin, after offering an 8 figure amount to SBC/CUSA, wouldn't jump at a free invite.
But again, best of luck. As I said in the second post on the thread there's better options for the Belt.
And what he is saying is even with the best resume the SBC produced since the CFP started y’all didn’t have “access”. I don’t think Liberty needs the SBC but if the offer came I think they’d take it. It still doesn’t change the fact that all of the stars would have to lineup for a SBC team to get an invite.
Sun Belt and CUSA and MAC and MWC, and AAC all have the same access. Step 1. Win your conference. Step 2. Be the highest rated of the five champions.
If Liberty, BYU, Army, New Mexico State, or UMass finishes the season rated higher than the highest rated team in Step 2, the team in Step 2 is going to the Access Bowl. Even if rated 5th in the country and the highest rated G5 champion isn't in the top 25 of the AP or USA Today polls, the highest rated G5 conference champion is going to the Access Bowl and the top rated independent has to be selected at-large to get a NY6 game.
Yeah. Liberty would turn down a G5 conference invite.
Meh....LU as Indy or in the SBC/CUSA has the same shot of getting a NY6 bowl. I have a chance to win the lotto with each ticket but the odds are against me. The mythical NY6 shot y’all are talking about having in the SBC is silly since not one school saying how dumb we are not wanting in has never been in a NY6 themselves and they are in a conference.
And what’s yalls goal? Are y’all trying to convince LU folks that we should want to be in the SBC and at the same time convince us we will never have a shot of getting in after we are convinced? This thread is silly. A huge jerkk off session.
The goal of the thread is clearly stated in the first post. The dude wanted to unleash his unpopular opinion that we shouldve let yall in a few years back.
Figured you'd at least have to be able to read to buy the diploma. (Sorry couldn't resist that one.)

This is a textbook sour grapes argument: “We got turned down, but we never really wanted to be in a conference and it really isn’t that great being in a conference anyway.”

Ugh.... I’m perfectly fine being Indy and love it. I never cared for joining a conference other than it’s ability to upgrade us from FCS. Since that’s a nonissue since we went FBS without it joining a conference now is a nonissue. So it goes back to my previous statement do y’all want us to want to join just to turn us down again? Seems like a odd thing to want.
So let me be clear. I am happy with LU being Indy and the NY6 access doesn’t bother me I am happy with the bowls we have gotten and won. The SBC is fine as it is and is doing good and doesn’t need LU like we don’t need it other than the occasional game or bowl.

Yeah and the MAC will never make NY6 either. Sure it’s like winning the lottery but we get to buy a ticket for that lottery. You don’t
Enjoy your sour grapes.

Your first paragraph is just wrong.
Your second paragraph is mostly true. Liberty would accept the invite but won't be invited and this thread is silly.
