Cota, Hodges and Smith combined for 4 innings in relief. 0 runs on 0 hits, 5 K's and 3 BB's.

And of course Shafer with a tremendous midweek start, earning the W. 2 runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, with 2 K's and 0 BB's.

Meanwhile, every Seahawk hitter got at least 1 hit. 17 total hits tonight. 6 of them for extra bases. Baldwin went 4-4 and also drew a walk, meaning he reached base every plate appearance. The batting averages are very impressive for Brandenburg (.389), Baldwin (.361), Mongero (.357) and Lifrieri (.348) right now.

0 errors on defense, again. Croom in particular made some great plays tonight.

We were tremendous in all phases.

The ezuers are whining about mid-week games and how they don't matter and they would win a weekend series. Maybe so, BUT, if you don't have good mid-week pitching you'll be hurting come tourny time. Tourny time sometimes bring four or five game weekends and the fourth or fifth starters (mid-week pitching) get thrown into the mix. We were the better team tonight & if mid-week games don't mean anything (and they do) - then why play them? You play them in order to keep everybody sharp and ready to go. Every dog has his day and it was our tonight.

Great win and always great to beat an ecu baseball team. Regardless of how we feel about their school and basketball team, their baseball team is a very good program. To beat them is very good, to absolutely smash them like that is impeccable.

This team is quickly earning the respect they should be due. Like others have pointed out though, this weekend and the rest of the conference season they have to continue to play at this level.

This team has some serious potential for greatness.

RE: Baseball vs. # 7 ECU (Wednesday, Mar 17 - 6 PM)
Got a chance to catch this one in person. Perhaps luckily, I got there late when the score was tied 2-2.

From that point on, that may have been one of the most overall dominating perfromances i've ever seen. Our pitchers overwhelmed pretty much every hitter. Every time we got in a jam, we got out of it with a great play in the field or a big K. We got runners in scoring position early in the innings with perfectly placed bunts, balls roped to the outfield, a 3 run homer, and every time we got someone in scoring position, it seemed like we got them in. On defense we ate up every hit to get the out, ran down every foul ball, Suggs kept pitches in front of him all night(although there weren't many balls thrown bad enough that it was a question), and we turned double plays when we got the chance.

That was a damned good team we beat and we made it look like a DI college team playing a HS team.

No errors, allowed one hit after the second inning, 17 hits, 10 runs.

That my felllow Seahawks was an ass whoppin'.

Non-conference, we have two against UNC and two against NCSU, as well as four against Coastal. How is the conference competition shaping up?

The conference hasn't been strong thus far sadly.

Pretty lousy so far. I was at least hoping the South Division would be stronger than the North, since we're not facing anyone in the North Division in the regular season. Unfortunately, both divisions will have RPI drains if things continue to shape up like they are currently:

South Division

1. Charleston (5-9, 2-1, # 196 RPI)
2. UNCW (11-3, # 21)
Elon (5-8, # 140)
JMU (3-6, # 262)
5. W&M (2-8, 1-2, # 236)

North Division

1. Delaware (2-2, # 120)
Northeastern (7-5, # 166)
Hofstra (7-5, # 182)
Towson (2-13, # 207)
