short answer, kinda.

long answer. Athletics is the focus of the South Campus, including the new Convocation Center, football stadium, baseball facility, athlete housing, so forth.
Maybe 15-20mins walk from the central campus (student center/library north/library south/bookstore/conference center/fine arts building/multipurpose classroom buildings, etc). A problem is there is a major highway in-between, which can feel disjointed. You have to walk across via a large pedestrian bridge.
Easier to ride the campus shuttles connecting East (rec center/science complexes/current bball arena/library), West (college of business/liberal arts buildings/Aderhold undergrad building/popular eateries along Broad Street), North (college of law, freshman dorms, greek housing, upper classmen dorms and private student apartments, administrative buildings), and South (the new convocation building, football stadium, baseball facility, new student housing, new parking decks, shops and eateries along Georgia Ave.)
IIRC Atlanta Streetcar will also connect from the new South Campus expansion to the current North end of the campus when it's all done. Rode it few times, it's pretty modern and neat.

So, yes it's connected. You can walk if you're trying to fill your 10k steps on Fitbit. Most will use nicely climate controlled shuttles especially during hot summers lol..

Yeah shuttles are the move. Walking especially May to September with no shade can be a bear. I wouldn't look for any streetcars down Capitol for a very long time. But students have parked in the stadium parking lots and taken shuttles for decades. Central campus has really become like three campuses with the original campus off Decatur Street and then the Aderhold Building and other campus buildings in the Fairlie-Poplar are to the west toward Centennial Park and now the Summerhill area by the Stadium. Given that most of the dorms and apartments are off Piedmont in the northeast section of campus if you have to hoof it to Aderhold or anything on the western edge of campus you're getting your steps in. But I agree that that desolation of crossing the expressway bridge and the lack of trees and buildings has historically made it feel like an even longer walk to Summerhill and the stadium. Thankfully COVID has not halted construction and most of the parking lots are getting filled with actual buildings.

Thanks. Think I walked over that bridge on my way to a Braves game years ago. It was July & really, really hot. It would have been nice to have had a shuttle.
