Agreed. Clemson/Rutgers is an incredibly fortunate 2nd round match up.

I love Huggins but that wvu team really struggles in defense. They're a 3 seed and not even a kenpom top 25 team.

They also drew SDSU as their #6 seed and they've been on an absolute tear. I thought for sure we were going to get paired with Texas.

Uconn wouldn't even get looked at if they were in the aac. Conference affiliation at it's finest.

Utah state and Syracuse were the biggest shocks to me. Not sure how they avoided first four

When I saw 'Cuse in, I told my buddies we were out.

Glad for the Wheaties, though.

Dang. I really thought Memphis had done enough to be solidly on the bubble---at the very least a replacement team. At this point, I guess I should just be happy the AAC remained a multi-bid conference. On the upside---the future looks very bright for AAC basketball. Memphis, Cinci, SMU, and Wichita all appear to be on the rise and back to fielding NCAA bid worthy squads. The last piece to cement the AAC as a power league next season is for Tulsa to go ahead and hire Pitino.

By the way, I love this Aresco quote from the tournament---"I'm bullish on our prospects." He adds: "We are at a crossroads ... we have to get out of Group of Five. We don't belong there."

Curious if Oregon State and Georgetown don't steal a bid if Memphis would have been first four out.

I appreciate the sentiment, but we did not meet the selection criteria. However, I believe the Tigers today would beat some of the at-large schools.

We'll know at 8:30 pm ET on ESPNU. NIT Selection Show.

If a top two 2 seed, then yes.

Disagree. We were 16th overall in kenpom. That's a tourney team regardless of conference

I hope Memphis schedule 5-6 ooc to beef up schedule. In a conference where only one team is a quad 1 opp you have to get most of your opportunities ooc.
