Not correct per the NCAA

NCAA grants extra year of eligibility for all winter sport athletes

He is 24 and already on the downhill side of the average NBA career. He may have several more years available overseas but not as many as he would like.

He doesn't have enough years left playing ball to spend another in college.

Yeah, I don't see him back. I think he's enjoyed his time with the program, so he's not transferring anywhere. He's just at the age to move on.

He's 24, if he's gonna make any scratch playing bball he's got to get while the getting is good. One more year of college ball isn't going to all of a sudden make him an NBA prospect IMO.

I mean if he came back and won conference POY and was an All-American it could get him more money long run, but it’s a hard sell. Joey wasn’t much younger in 08 and he got a 2nd round pick and NBA career out of it.

A very good living

Not so much anymore. Times are hard for the overseas leagues.

problem is with that is .... you're still overseas. Taxes can eat up a paycheck there. English could be a third world language between you and your team mates. Living conditions not exactly like living in the USA.

Hopefully dandridge is completely healthy. He can give us some of that post player vision that Williams has. Obviously he won’t have the ball handling skills to create as many angles to pass to an open guy but he was certainly good at finding the right play from the area around the free throw line.

Dandridge's health is a big key to next season. He runs that high low better than anyone, and if Big Sam is any better than Cisse, that could be an improvement to get more points/rebounds in the paint.

Dude... for real!?

Unless Williams goes to play ball at some third world country, he will be OK.. Any country in Eastern Europe, Italy, Spain pays good money.. Just depends how these players save their money when they come back to the States.

Yeah, I’m afraid Malco might be developing that big-man-chronic-knee-pain condition. He’s clearly more explosive at some times more than at other times.

Most orgs/companies offer you a post-tax salary and usually after credits you dont have much or any US tax obligation.

And while lifestyle is different in terms of food and maybe size of space, living standards in 90%+ of Europe, LatAm, and the major Asian markets is basically the same or better in any area popular with expats.

Maybe you should travel a little. Except Africa, some of the former Soviet Union and some parts of Southeast Asia, overseas is a pretty cool place to be. There are many countries with a better life style than the good ole US of A.

Heaven help him if he lands in a dump in Milan, Athens or Lyon. He would be much better off in Fort Wayne Indiana, Taylorsville Utah, or Wilmington Delaware.

I had a friend who played in Argentina years ago. The inflation was so bad that he was paid in free rent and free food because the money was, well, you know.

Just watch the way he “runs”. His knees constantly knock in towards each other. It baffles me that high level D1 coaches don’t recognize this and try to help him learn proper movement mechanics that will also help him move better over the course of his lifetime. A little yoga and some hip opener stretches, along with resetting his foundational movement pattern would change this young mans life forever. But he’ll get chewed up and spit out and end up hobbling around the rest of his life.

Yeah I can remember many years ago when I had spent an extended period in europe I was very happy to be returning to the States. In the years leading up to the pandemic after any stay in Europe I really wasn't very happy about returning to the States.
