Physically it's not easy to be consistent. https://www.wired.com/story/almost-impos...ee-throws/ And let's not forget our Tigers played their legs off less than 24 hours earlier.

So now we add mentally to the equation in emotional game situations.....The only aspects you can really practice are the physical ones--speed angle rotation etc.

Game experience comes with time. Best thing when you step up to the line is not to care if you miss. Caring produces a miss.

They just need a shot of 'ice in the veins'. It's the newest drug for freethrow perfection.

so what. Houston knew they were in. Less pressure at the line. Houston sailed past their opponent in the first game. Plus we make our name on defense..Defense tires the legs....

If it were just physical more NBA players would be in the 95% range.

The 7 Best Free-Throw Shooters in NBA History
Steph Curry: 90.47%
Steve Nash: 90.43% ...
Mark Price: 90.39% ...
Peja Stojakovic: 89.48% ...
Chauncey Billups: 89.4% ...
Ray Allen: 89.39% ...
Rick Barry: 89.31% ...

You can't coach/teach speed----and as for game experience ---each player sans Cisse have been playing BB their entire lives--hundreds of games each

If they only cared as much about FT'S as they do dunking

Gotta love Joe Jackson. Right! not right...fans put a lot of pressure on JJ and Josh did some debilitating things to his confidence--like replace him with a Who.

As a freshman, Jackson clinched the 2011 Conference USA (C-USA) title and an unlikely NCAA tournament berth for the Tigers by burying two free throws with 7.8 seconds left in the game against UTEP on the Miners' home floor.) The only Tigers to make more free throws than Jackson — Perry, Lee, and Larry Finch — have their jersey numbers hanging from the FedExForum rafters.

HANDCLAPPINGTHINGY

The genius that wants 6 loss football teams from the MAC to have a spot in a 16 team playoff, that can't tie his shoes on his own, is mocking Joe Jackson.

What ? how did you get that ? I did not mock the KING OF MEMPHIS---he is one of the most underrated TIGERS of all time.

The hand clapping thingy was for calling a WHO a WHO

As for the shoes--how did you know that---you are right----I can't reach the laces anymore--that's why I wear ones that I can slip on --like Sketchers and the like LOL

A Coog said it after the championship game. Houston wanted the game more than the Tigers. You have to want to make free throws if you want to win. If you want to win you find a way to make them. You don't just nonchalantly sling them at the goal.
DJ is supposed to be an elite shooter. Elite shooters don't shoot 50% from the free throw line. If this bunch thinks they can make millions playing basketball they better figure it out.
You find it. You practice it. You get better at it. You practice it. etc. etc.etc.
And this is a very small part of basketball, but little things are sometimes what separates winners from losers.

Basketball analysis obviously isn't your thing, but maybe if someone wants tips on the right cream rinse to keep their pony tail looking good, you can help them out.

Yeah, FT's have nothing to do with "who wants it most". But stick to the Coog board.

True we should improve. It has hurt us this year, bad. Other than that your post is insulting.

Western Kentucky: 6/11 on free throws (54.5 percent) L by 6

VCU: 13/18 on free throws (72.2 percent) L by 11

Auburn: 14/26 on free throws (53.8 percent) L by 3

Tulsa: 10/21 on free throws (47.6 percent) L by 7

Tulsa: 9/15 on free throws (60 percent) L by 1

SMU: 10/15 on free throws (66.7 percent) L by 2

Houston: 6/12 on free throws (50 percent) L by 3

Houston: 15/27 on free throws (55.6 percent) L by 2

You could reasonable assume we would have won Auburn, the 1 point Tulsa and the 2 point Houston and maybe the 3 point Houston games by Hitting just 3-4 more FT. That would have had a huge impact on where we stand. So yes FT are important and we need to get better.

Saying they didn't want it as bad as someone else is just a worthless rant.

I’ve never liked that idea that the tougher team necessarily won or the team that wanted it more

Our kids left their hearts out there on the court and arguably played harder than Houston because they had to to overcome their own errors

Sure, in every game you can say the winning team wanted it more because they did the things in practice to be able to win the game

Boogie in this game shot well below his average. It happened and I know he was crushed. Houston did not want it more. Historically speaking Kansas did not want it more.

A very different point from finding a way to both physically and mentally get over the free throw block

Agree. We gave it everything we had - you can’t ask for more than that. It’s just a shame that sub-par FT shooting cost us the game.

I am the Penny defender

I think you need to read your own posts.

No--you need to read my posts.

For weeks I defended Penny when people were saying he was to dumb to install an offense

For weeks I defended Penny when people were saying he needs more experience .

I will say it AGAIN---NOBODY knows more about the game of BB than PENNY HARDAWAY

I am a Penny fan BECAUSE I am a TIGER fan---I want him to win every game
