Ticks getting a tad arrogant. At least they don’t have an excuse to bail out now and call it off.

RE: Week 5: Ticks at JMU
Saw player and coach interviews on CBS locally Wednesday night. The Spiders said they are confident they can come into Bridgeforth and win tomorrow. I have a few friends that are grads and they feel pretty good about their chances too.

UR has beaten the same two CAA teams we have beaten. I think tomorrow will be a hard hitting game. It’s a rivalry and rivalries are one of the reasons we love sports.

I will be there tomorrow rootin. Go Dukes!

To say the obvious, it's frustrating that this game is not already sold out. Are we losing our mojo? Whatever.

I am coming to the game tomorrow but none of my usual colleagues can make it. Since they're only selling tickets in pairs, I'm looking to meet up with someone else who is the odd person out (I'll buy the tickets and transfer/give you yours at the game) or someone who has an extra they want to get rid of.

I feel like 5k+ is pretty decent for the first real game we've had in the covid era. A large number of people are still not vaccinated and may have some concerns. Add to that this not being a typical season or time of year. Also no tailgating, which makes me a bit sad. I understand why, but i think this could be done in small groups safely.

IF we get a seed and have 3 home playoff games, attendance for those will perhaps be a bit more telling.

I think a lot of people are still reticent about attending gatherings like this vaccinated or not. Going to be a while before we can all clear our heads of the last 14 months.

Will be there tomorrow ROOTIN!!!

Anyone know if any portion of the MRD's will be there?

Whoa! Who is the guy in the red jacket prancing across the floor, left to right, with the rhythm of Steve Martin in The Jerk? It looks like he grabs his buddy by the waist and mounts him from behind. Or, am I seeing things?

Spring game never drew 5K before. This is our spring game. 5K at the tail end of a global pandemic in the offseason in pursuit of a championship that has drastically mixed feelings about the validity or importance of said playoff.... well, 5K seems like a pretty good draw. I do not see the support increasing if there are games week to week at home, and the students will still hit the road at halftime like they did before 04-cheers

Do we know who’s starting at QB tomorrow? Wish I could be there but scheduled something this weekend thinking it’d be a bye.

They're not wrong though, I mean, they're not going to celebrate the L they are about to take. Their bus ride home will feel like a funeral.

111-16 sounds like a great prediction!

There he is!

Legend in his own mind. Wondered (and hoping) he was still with us.

Seeing as the tics have nothing else in life to celebrate, they should dedicate a tiny campus statue to the Satchmo.

RE: Week 5: Ticks at JMU
It will be interesting to see how Heatherman defends Mancuso as a dual threat QB. He is not a super athlete, but experienced and very effective. I’d love to see a 3rd LB in the box and take away the QB run game. If he throws for 300 yards without picks, then tip your hat and say good game. I’m not sure he can win win a pass heavy game.

Line play will be interesting. I think both teams have enough horses to make it very competitive in the trenches. Without Fornadel, JMU has a weak link in the O-line. Trading an All American for a true Freshman. That is a big drop off that the ticks might be able to exploit.

I’m embarrassed that we’re playing these losers today. We’re better than them. Forget sports & academics. We’re just better living beings than them. All of them. Except Satchmo. He’s really just one of us.
