Serious question about rules for free throws.
This is something I have been wondering about but can't find an answer.
Since our tigers seem to suck at shooting free throws while standing still at the free throw line could they start inside the circle and take dribbles and shoot a jump shot as long as they do not cross over the free throw line ?? We seem much better with jump shots than actual free throws. Is there an option to do that or is one foot at the line an absolute rule ?? Inquiring minds want to know !!!

You can shoot a jumper as long as you stand at the line and don't cross it. In the sixties, a guy named Hal Greer used to do just that. NBA ...Philadelphia Sevety Sixers.

With the way some of the guys have missed jumpers at the FT line, I'm not sure that would help either.

Or just go to the underhand shot.

Players would never be able to get over their ego for that. Banking them though wouldn’t catch them as much ****.

Straight on banks are actually pretty hard to do intentionally from that range. Major touch shot. Wing bank shots actually easier
