Hawks lead 2-1 in the 6th. App put up a run in the 4th, and a 2-out RBI single for Weiss in the 5th gave the Hawks the lead right back.

Now 3-1 Hawks! More clutch 2-out hitting, as Thorburn comes off the bench to get an opposite field RBI poke.

Still 3-1 Hawks, bottom 8. Gorham and Cota do a great job in relief of Gesell, who went 7 strong innings.

More clutch hitting out of Thorburn! A 2-out RBI double makes it 4-1 Hawks!

Cota, who finished the 8th, stayed in to try to get the save. 2 pitches, 2 outs to begin the 9th. 1 more out to a series win!

The lineups for both teams are very interesting today, in that neither team will be utilizing a DH! Junior RHP Andrew Terrell will be batting 9th for App, while Ryan Calvert will be batting 6th in the lineup today.

The scouting report on Ryan is that he projects to be an MLB prospect as a hitter. He was recruited as a 2-way player so this is his first chance to demonstrate that at the D-I level. He wasn't initially intended to be in the lineup, as Thorburn was going to DH and bat 6th. That changed during warmups.

Hawks put up 2 in the first, knocking out App's starter in the process. He recorded 0 outs as the Hawks strung together 5 straight base runners (single, walk, single, walk, walk).

However, it should have been much worse for the Mountaineers. 3 straight K's by the App reliever got them out of a bases loaded jam. At least Trevor Marsh put up a fight, as his K came on a 12-pitch AB.

2-0 Seahawks, top 2nd.

Calvert struggling here in the 2nd. He got the first 2 batters with ease, but has allowed a single sandwiched between a pair of walks to load the bases.

Calvert gets out of it against App's leadoff hitter on a weak fly ball to center. Phew.

2-0 Hawks, bottom 2nd.

RBI triple off the wall for Baldwin, who has had a terrific weekend from both sides of the plate!

3-0 Hawks, still batting bottom 2nd.

A 2-out RBI double for Brandenburg makes it 4-0!

5-0 Hawks! A 2-out, 2-strike RBI single by Baldwin plates the run. He's 3-3 today with a triple and 2 RBI and its only the top of the 4th inning!

The Seahawks tack on another in the 5th. Bridges led off the inning with an infield single, got to 2nd on a SAC bunt, reached 3rd on a groundout, and then scored on a Wild Pitch.

The Hawks have been doing a great job of generating runs this weekend without needing extra base hits, though they've certainly gotten those as well!

Gage Herring enters in the 7th. Welcome back, Gage!

Herring delivered a solid inning of work. He walked the first batter but then got a double play ball and a fly out to end it.

The Hawks then tacked on a run in the 7th. It's now the bottom of the 8th, 7-0 Seahawks!

Hawks' pitchers Jack Fisher and Troy Langmeyer did their best to make things interesting here in the 9th. 1 run is in, and the bases are loaded with 1 out.
