Former 3* recruit averaged 23 and 15 as a senior
Injuries at Butler, hip surgery I believe, combined with being behind better players at the 4 spot
Did get to see him play vs Georgetown this year in one of his only games and handled himself well against bigger dudes defensively/offensively. Rebounded and moved well. 6'7. Great specimen physically.

Ray,
Do you see Markeese playing 3 or 4 spot?

Not sure. I think, in certain respects, you are what you can guard and I think he can guard 3-5 in the mac for decent stretches (could be wrong).
I'm interested to see how they play when the roster is complete.
Will a 5 man, considering they will probably be adding at least one, have the ability to stretch floor and shoot 3's? Will there be more space in the lane if they add a wing/forward that can knock down open shots and pass? Will they play faster? I think that may be the case but just a guess. I like the development aspect of the staff. I think Greg grew his game a lot. B Artis as well. We'll see what they can do when all the new pieces are together.

Interesting addition for sure. 3 years left it appears? Man...an interesting addition to this team would be someone like a Marcus Bingham Jr. from MSU. 6’11” and a really good 3 point shooter. From G.R. Catholic Central. I’ve lost track of how things have worked out for him at MSU of late. Seems like his minutes have dropped over the years but I have to admit I’ve lost track this season. Absolutely no reason to think he’s leaving State...but this guy has intrigued me for quite some time. Always wondered if he was happy with his role/minutes.

I am all in on Hastings. Norman looked pretty good in that tape too. Can they both play right away?

Not a difficult decision for either party.

If healthy potentially a nice pick up. I don't think there was any competition for his services re health.

Yes, a 5 is needed. Had one but somehow got away.

Yep, kid probably chose us over K, Albion and Alma. I mean you think it so that's the case right.

Yep, a 5 got away, somehow.

Hope Titus is great wherever he ends up. Hope he finds a coach that's honest and holds him accountable for things that matter and that he an hear that coach. Hope he gets his degree and plays for a long time and makes a lot of money and can save it. It will be a success story that's incredible coming from where he did, with only one offer due to some intense searching on the part of a former assistant. He definitely has the physical talent/potential if he focuses and at his size and modestly productive stats he'll have plenty of options.

Next Chance U the bball version is on Netflix now. Not as good as I hoped but still interesting as to the personalities some of today's players bring to the table, especially after a little bit of success. Takes place at a highly respected Juco in Cali. Some of the players have come from D-1 trying to get back and some who are trying to get there. CMU's big Muhammad (i think) is in it, a kid that was a 4/5 star is in it who was at penn st for a minute and nows at Long Beach and another will be at USC next year and another at Sacramento State (my favorite as he's a guard and 6'2 and as he says "there's a thousand just like me out there there's not too many Joe's" (the former 4/5 star who's 6'9 and skilled). Their coach is an alum who played there and from the community (East LA is where school is and the coach is from South Central). The staff's viewpoints are interesting. They're trying to save dudes but always come back to the point that D-1's will not put up with the same stuff. Worth a look if you have time, but again not as good as I hoped -maybe it will grow on me.

Peace everyone. Have a great night and enjoy the rest of March Madness (if you watch the games). But even if you don't watch enjoy the community you have here. It was and is nice to be among you.

RIP Marvin Hagler
Great fighter who got out with his money and his brains
Petronelli Brothers and him -3 guys from Brockton Mass who swam with the sharks like King and Arum and lived to talk about it.
66 years old.

I don't know who else was after his services. Until the other day I was unaware he was looking to transfer. The fact he's from the area and his HS teammate just committed to WMU seemed like a logical progression. His health and overall lack of production at Butler also factored into my speculation that other programs might give pause. I hope he has or will fully recover and the transfer works out famously for both.

Re Titus I read his twitter "g-bye". Usual template used but mentioned wanting a new environment? A couple ways to take that but this action implies he didnt feel he could or would make it work on his end. IOW his choice not to take to heart what he was currently hearing.

I cant imagine what he was "hearing" was anything that was limiting his opportunity but more along the line of if you can prove by making the changes we could use you like this or that. But until then ... If so, he'll learn by hearing the same at the next stop. Wish he had taken it to heart. I thought he had much more to offer than modest production.

The same coach who found TW will find another to replace him.
