If I was the NIT I would invite UC. We could win that tournament.

Wichita State gets into the Big Dance... That's an NIT opening, there...

Still don't see us getting into the small NIT field, but...

Yikes. I only made it to the 12 minute mark of the second half

I think we could play a 25 game season against Houston and we may not come within 2 TDs in any of them.

Absolutely. Anyone who would think otherwise is a hater.

Sampson will have Houston dominating this league for a while. Combo of recruiting and X/O’s you won’t see on that level in this league anywhere else.

My strategy would to be foul starting the first possession, just foul every time so they can’t make a 3.

Definitely a lot more turnovers.

Will be fun to see how he handles losing Grimes, Jarreau, and Gorham this off season...but I agree. Oddly enough, only two players in their 8-man rotation actually started their careers at Houston.

Houston has out-Cincinnati-ied Cincinnati with how they play. Their guards are obviously very good but their bigs are tough as nails. That looked like the US invasion of Grenada in the paint.

Maybe this is better served for some type of post-mortem thread on the season but what is the deal with that zone? is it a 3-2? Having our big rotate out to the corner to contest a trey is possibly the dumbest defense i've ever seen. it takes away a big from rebounding position, and when the big is Vogt, he doesn't have the foot speed to get out and truly contest. Houston smoked us when we went to that zone, and all year the corners were largely uncovered, which is the most efficient three point shot on the floor. Just play man, switch everything, and sag and help on drives to the lane. That zone is flat out awful. Same for the 1-3-1. i can understand running it if we have a lot of athleticism and length but we don't.

I've seen some mention that XU, who has 1 more victory than us, a candidate for the NIT. If they are considered, we should be too.

I don't think John wants to zone. I think it was a function of our issues inside. We played it well against wichita and smu. Houston eviscerated it. Houston is final 4 good. Those two aren't.

Yeah, when Brannen first took the job, I think I recall him saying he's a man-to-man kind of defensive coach.

She's so obnoxious. Calling out your son's coach on Twitter is cringey and unnecessary. If she's got a problem with Brannen, she should take it up with him personally.

It will likely get worse before it gets better. She seems to like the attention.

So I guess the NET rankings don't matter? Memphis is 20 spots ahead of Wichita.

I think the reasoning was they won the regular season.
