We get the winner tomorrow. Both teams will be tough outs. Rice gave us fits earlier this year and Marshall is so tough to defend and arguably is the second most talented team in the conference behind WKU.

Marshall made it interesting late, but we get to feast on some Rice tomorrow.

I dont look forward to having us going against Rice again. We should be favored but that team can be trouble if their 3 pt shooters start hitting with any regularity.

I think Rice was missing their best player when we played them...

I specifically remember, after sweeping them, saying “I have no interest in seeing them in the tournament”

The good news, they may have heavy legs
The bad news, they’ve had plenty of opportunity to get accustomed to the busch league arena

They were missing Travis Evee, their second leading scorer and a 40% 3 point shooter for both games. They were missing Max Felder, their best post player for the second game.
Both games were tough and I think I even said in the game thread for the second game that I had no desire to play them again in the tournament because quite frankly they are skilled enough offensively that we pretty much will have to have a good shooting game ourselves to pull out the W.

Rice has an unfair advantage in playing in arenas with giant curtains, having had a giant blue curtain in their home arena for 20 years.

Rice upsets Marshall and we must beat Rice to advance...sounds awfully familiar to last December

I would think Rice being on their 3rd game in 3 days gives us an advantage. Need to turn the pressure up on D to tire out their legs even more.

Just keep turning it up and we may be able to get some open shots vs the Rice defense.
UTSA may be our next opponent if we are good enough to beat Rice. Though likely WKU.
