Montgomery's .408 vs Patton's .297. Plus we had two winning seasons under Montgomery, and an appearance at the prestigious Vegas 16. Very very exclusive.

Monty had the Huskies within four points of going to the finals in the MAC tournament two years ago. Last year they earned a bye into the quarterfinals and were going to play Miami to go to semi finals.

This year, having been a ham strung the last few years on the recruiting trail With all the speculation that he would be fired he was forced to go to JUCO route and then Covid hit taking away some of the better players.

People seem to forget this is Northern Illinois. There are no glory days. A very few Blips of success in The record book. John McDougall-the all-time winningest coach who is under 500 for his career, Molinary who won with Jim Roseborough’s players and jumped at the chance to get out of Dekalb: after two seasons are looked at as the standard. Brian Hamel had a brief run of two good years with TJ lux and a tournament appearance but was also well under 500 for his career. Except for Molinari the only NIU coach in the last Half century to have a winning record was Tom Jorgensen. 2019-20, Monty’s last full year, The Huskies were 18-13 and tied for the Western Conference championship. Those accomplishments which many see as meager are actually highlights in Huskie history as only a Handful of NIU teams have won 18+ games in a season
and there have been very few championships or co—championships for NIU in basketball history.

Despite your incorrect spelling of your names, I was able to decipher your message. And you're absolutely right, NIU has historically never been a basketball school. We've had limited success throughout the years, and hopefully Burno is someone who can finally change our culture and place in Basketball.

I will fight you and agree with Big Red, that Patton set us back a decade. We went from a mediocre team, to an awful team under his command. Most notably, we also lost access to any Chicago Public School because of him.

Montgomery was light years ahead, but he only took us from awful back to mediocre. I thank him for that. We still broke the record for lowest points scored in a half of bball twice under him.
"Burno?"

I think you mean "Bruno"

“Despite your incorrect spelling of your names, I was able to decipher your message.” You most be extraordinarily brilliant, Hawaii, and highly skilled in cryptography to be able to follow that post. But also anal, arrogant, intolerant and picky as hell. Have to be a joy to be around.

03-nutkick Ya might be an idiot if Molinary vs. Molinari confused you!

That's not fair. It would have been lower if he coached the whole season.

I think Montgomery has left the program in just about the same shape as when he took over. This roster is a mess. Hard find any D1 caliber players on the roster right now with no promising underclassman at all. This is definitely going to take a few years to get back into shape.

YES! ISN’T IT EXCITING!!!

I’m f*cking ecstatic to BURN(o) THE WHOLE THING DOWN (pun intended).

Set a flame to it, sweep away the ashes, and start fresh with a pristine slate.
