I dont want to flood the basketball recruiting thread with rumors and transfer rumors that might not even be true...
also can talk about transfers we should target and make sense for certain teams

so heres a thread for that

6'6 CG sharpshooter from not too far from Cincinnati.. would make a ton of sense for them

sidenote: sampson yesterday on his radio show noted that numerous coaches have tried to hit up our bench players to see if they want to transfer.. telling them theyd be starters on their teams (likely referencing cam tyson, who has had 2 30 point games, but given no minutes in competitive games) or jamal shead (our freshman who was a 4star)
(obviously not directly, so they arent breaking any ncaa rules)

sampson thinks the transfer portal is going to be crazy in a bout 1 month, nothing like we've ever seen before

That's definitely an ideal target that fills one of our two biggest needs. UC desperately another wing creator with size. Powell can fill it, but he also is a good passer with a high assist rate.

UC reached out to Jamison Battle as well - sophomore from GW that averaged 19 ppg in conference play at 39% shooting from 3 and 64% from 2. He was offered by Brannen and NKU out of high school. He looks like another combo forward that won't give you much defensively. Not sure how redundant he is with Davenport already on the roster but this team does need an infusion of talent....

Ideally UC gets a playmaking wing, and 2 bigs with one being a rim protecting 5.

Forbes, James, and even Pope are going to get offers to leave Tulane.

I think Jordan Walker will stay as he's a locked in starter and already learned the hard way about life as an undersized PG in a power conference.

We have room for our entire team to return, with Jayden H becoming a walk-on.

Unless somebody leaves due to being unhappy (almost always happens for one, at least), or somebody great comes along AND somebody is leaving, then I doubt we're a player this time around...

If that's 39.7% on 3s, then great. If it's overall, then not great.

So let me rephrase. We might be on a transfer or more, but we can't take anybody unless somebody on our current roster leaves for some reason that is currently unknown to the public AND Jayden goes walk-on. How's that, lol?

It's not on 3s. His numbers look like big time gunner, which isn't ideal at 5'10 playing in a better conference.

A loss to Tulane would mean that a coach in year 5(?) essentially is getting swept by the rebuilding Wave... ...and that should seal his fate.

As a Memphis fan, I would like to apologize for us gagging 2 close games to you this season, after rolling over by 40 last year.

atleast 20 15points or more per game players from mid majors are already in the portal and the season isnt even done yet

I hope SMU’s next coach will be very active because next year’s team be looking nothing like this season’s roster.

In fairness the effects of a certain assistant coach were still there in our two games this year. Haith then just got stubborn and has now wrecked what would gave been a top 4 team by insisting on playing Haywood and KES, with at least one of them getting 30mins each game while the far more productive Jackson and Richie sat the bench. Even when finally by production forced to let Jackson and Richie on the court he didn't drop the two anchors who play similar positions, he instead took minutes from our posts

All while utterly neglecting our solid freshmen class who can all read the writing on the wall and are likely in the portal by this weekend.

Its absolutely baffling and simple stubbornness.

Sorry we screwed the pooch by sucking the ooc and then collapsing the regular season after taking out Houston and Memphis twice. That is hurting the AAC.

People saw this coming. Get ready for fewer upsets in the future. The strength of your conference and the money you have will mean more than ever.

Gonna be drama next season when guys who put in time to earn a starting role get bumped for a risky transfer.
