Good 5 minutes of defense by the Owls...a lot more jump.

Rice 27 - 20 at half. Mullin with 10, Felder with 8, Olivari with 6.

RE: MBB - CUSA tournament
27-20 Rice at the half. Another half of really, really poor shooting, especially from 3. But maybe our best defensive effort in conference play. I'd go to Moore over Havsa in the second half. It's kind of a lottery with Havsa, he's either good or bad. This has been the bad Havsa.

Most importantly, we just need to make shots. 13% from 3 might not win this game, let alone ones down the road.

Agree about Havsa. For someone has international experience he makes some of the softest and most questionable passes. Hard to figure where our 3 pt shooting went over the past 5 games. Really good coaching call to foul with 1.5 left in the half.

I’d guess there are some nerves for someone playing in his potential last game ever.

It’s been an issue at times all season. As was previously said there is the Good Havsa and the Bad Havsa.

Fear not folks, the normal Rice defense decided to show up. Lead already down to 30-29.

Awful. Has to be like 3-4 straight turnovers from Rice. 31-30 Southern Miss. So consistently bad the past month.

And we’ve lost the lead. Terrible start to the half.

This 2nd half team could lose to the Washington Generals by double digits. Just no concept of how we can play any worse.

33-30 Southern Miss. Our inability to stop teams has been consistently bad this year. But what's also clear is that teams have our offensive sets down pat by now. You can see that even against bad teams. Combine that with missing every wide open look we've had, and you have a three point deficit against an objectively bad team.

We have as many turnovers in the first 5 minutes of the 2H as we had the entire first half.

Southern Miss is making the winning plays right now. More aggressive on the glass, getting to more loose balls. Evee keeping us in the game with three second half 3s.

Evee heating up. He's 3-3 this half, all from deep. Rice down 36-37.

20 of their 43 points are off of Rice TOs. Rice has already committed 10 turnovers this half in just 11 minutes.

Russell Westbrook had a famous quote about Pet Beverley where he basically said "he trick ya'll...he's just running around, doing nothing." I think that best sums up my thoughts on where our offense is right now.

49-45 Southern Miss after an easy offensive putback and a blown assignment.

As good as our defense was the first half, it's that bad in the second half. We cannot stop anything.

I think if Havsa had missed that three Pera might have burst an artery.
