RE: Biden's* Border Bungling (Hospitals starting to fill up with Covid Illegals)
Well, the Sniff administration has made it clear that one of their goals is to put Central and South Americans first. To hell with citizens and legal immigrants, the Dems want those illegal aliens. They're Democrat votes (who cares if they can't legally vote, many do anyway) and they add to census numbers for more gubmint welfare and House seats.

If true, this is akin to Cuomo putting COVID patients in nursing homes. Except this time, the onus on Biden.

And the media/leftists are still holding and sniffing Cuomo's jock, pretending as if he's the greatest governor in the history of America. I expect them to run the same interference for President Pedo.

I wonder if you plan to fix the hole in your head. You know, at first I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, thinking that maybe you were just very young and idealistic but now I'm beginning to understand why you've been correctly labeled a troll.

We've seen the likes of you here before, your deflections and whataboutisms won't work. So, if you are incapable of having an actual dialogue in which you can remain on topic just say so and I'll go ahead and place you with the other dumbasses who've gone before you.

Its like someone on this forum subscribed to the libturd of the month club. Every month, we get a new libturd on here that spews the same stupid sh*t.

Being stupid is easy.

Is anyone here really surprised Big Top Joe has wasted no time screwing the Americans who voted for him. The stupid revolutionaries don’t understand that they never run the chit they create. All of the useful idiots will be tossed in the waste heap of history if they ever succeed in destroying America.

RE: Biden's* Border Bungling (Hospitals starting to fill up with Covid Illegals)

Quote:Democrat President Joe Biden is reportedly putting migrant children in detention facilities that resemble prisons and is separating the children for weeks on end — both issues that Democrats and the media used to attack former President Donald Trump during Trump’s presidency.

“The number of unaccompanied migrant children detained along the southern border has tripled in the last two weeks to more than 3,250, filling facilities akin to jails as the Biden administration struggles to find room for them in shelters,” The New York Times reported. “The children are being held in facilities, managed by the Customs and Border Protection agency, that were built for adults. The border agency has been the subject of widespread criticism for the horrific conditions in its federal detention facilities, in which children are exposed to disease, hunger and overcrowding.”

The news comes after Axios reported late last week that the Biden administration was allowing the facilities to operate at 100% capacity to meet the demand of the huge surge in illegal immigration taking place on the southern border. The centers were previously allowed to only operate at 50% capacity to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

USA Today reported over the weekend that Biden was “still sheltering children separated from close family members in federal facilities for weeks on end — something immigrant advocates and attorneys had hoped the new administration would resolve by now.” The report noted in its headline that children were being “being separated from relatives for weeks” under Biden.

“The migrant children often arrive with a grandparent, older sibling or other relative but are separated until federal officials can confirm the accompanying adult is their relative, as required under U.S. law,” the report stated. “But it also classifies the youngsters as ‘unaccompanied minors’ and places them in federal shelters until a sponsor or adult is vetted, a process that can take several weeks or even months.”

The policy is different than the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy. Trump ended up signing an executive order that changed the policy so that “families are expected to be kept together, even if a parent faces prosecution for breaking immigration laws,” according to PolitiFact.

The Washington Examiner reported late last week that multiple sources familiar with the matter said that the Biden administration was considering changing the names of the facilities to “reception centers” because it sounded less harsh.

“The name would distinguish the facilities, one of which has been set up in Carrizo Springs, Texas, from existing structures maintained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Department of Health and Human Services’s Office of Refugee Resettlement,” the report said. “Images of one such Border Patrol facility led to criticism that President Donald Trump held children in ‘cages.’ Often, other such buildings are called ‘detention centers’ or ‘holding facilities.’”

Quote:The Biden Administration shattered a Trump-era record with DHS officials holding 3,200 unaccompanied alien children in custody, CNN reports. The detention of these minors shatters the 2,600 children held at the peak of the 2019 migrant surge. Many are being held beyond the 72-hour limit in facilities designed to hold large groups of adults.

CNN reviewed leaked U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) internal documents dated March 8, showing Border Patrol officials held 3,200 unaccompanied migrant children in their facilities. The agents apprehended the children after they illegally crossed the border without a parent.

The children are being held in jail-like cells that are not designed for children, CNN reported. Border Patrol is unable to release the children to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) due to the overcrowding in Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) long-term shelters. Many are being held long past the 72-hour court-imposed deadline to transfer the children out of Border Patrol custody.

The 3,200 children being held in Border Patrol cells more than doubles the number held less than one week ago, the article states.

Despite the urgent nature of a visit to the border by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that banned media coverage, President Joe Biden has not been briefed on the trip. Officials said the president is expected to be briefed in the coming days.

The 3,200 migrant children in Border Patrol custody shattered a record set during the Trump administration. As migrants surged across the border in 2019, the number of children held by Border Patrol without a parent peaked at 2,600, a former CBP officials told CNN.

The Biden Administration ended COVID protocols for unaccompanied minors last week when it ordered HHS shelters can open bed spaces up to pre-COVID levels.

Quote:With the relaxed border policies of President Joe Biden, “overwhelming numbers of migrants” are rushing the U.S. border, according to Alejandro Mayorkas, secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The admission was spotlighted by Fox News:

“Today, I activated the Volunteer Force to support Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as they face a surge in migration along the Southwest Border,” Mayorkas said in an email to staff, seen by Fox News.

“You have likely seen the news about the overwhelming numbers of migrants seeking access to this country along the Southwest Border,” he said. “President Biden and I are committed to ensuring our Nation has a safe, orderly, and humane immigration system while continuing to balance all of the other critical DHS missions.”

“In 2019, over 900 volunteers deployed to support their CBP colleagues during a similar migration surge,” Mayorkas said. “Please consider joining the Volunteer Force to again provide needed humanitarian support along the Southwest Border and relief for our CBP colleagues.”

Mayorkas’ admission is a major change from his March 1 statement at the White House, where he described the rising rush as a “stressful challenge,” but not a crisis.

“I think the answer is no,” Mayorkas responded when he was asked if the rush of migrants is a border crisis. “I think there is a challenge at the border that we are managing, and we have our resources dedicated to managing it.”

Mayorkas’s agencies are accepting all of the apparently unaccompanied teenagers and children who are delivered to the border and some of the migrant mothers with children who arrive at the border. DHS also is allowing injured migrants to stay.

His agencies say they are rejecting adult migrants — but many of these adults are sneaking across the border while the agents handle families, teenagers, and children.

Mayorkas and his deputies are downplaying the economic motivations of the migrants.

Many migrants have begun moving northwards to accept Joe Biden’s apparent welcome for job-seeking migrants. The rush is expected to dramatically increase once the weather warms up in April and May.

Biden’s deputies have not announced plans to tighten border control. They have, however, set a 2021 goal of welcoming 117,000 “Unaccompanied Alien Children” into the United States, well above the 30,000 children brought in 2020.

Under President Donald Trump, U.S. troops were routinely sent to the border to provide logistics and support services, while deputies battled to reduce the inflow of migrants.

Quote:A group of 23 House Republicans has sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas demanding answers on how many border crossers are testing positive for the Chinese coronavirus and subsequently being released into the United States interior.

The letter, led by Rep. Michael Burgess (R-TX), calls out President Joe Biden’s policies at the U.S.-Mexico border where thousands of border crossers and migrants are being released into the nation’s interior.

Only those enrolled in the Remain in Mexico program are tested for the coronavirus, while others are released, sometimes tested by local communities, and sent on their way regardless of their test results.

“There are reports that at least 100 migrants who tested positive for coronavirus have been released into the United States,” the letter states.

Reports last week confirmed that more than 100 border crossers released into the U.S. interior had tested positive for the coronavirus. Even after their positive result, the border crossers were free to continue traveling into the U.S.

The House Republicans said the restart of the Catch and Release program, in the midst of the pandemic, is “a guaranteed super spreader event.” They write:

Historical precedent indicates illegal border crossings may increase to over 100,000 per month this spring. Due to the continued need for social distancing, [DHS] facilities will quickly reach capacity. Even with efforts to social distance, reporting states that migrants are already being held in crowded spaces while being processed. [Emphasis added]

Coupled with the lack of coronavirus testing along the southern border, this is a guaranteed super spreader event. At the very least, all individuals encountered along our southern border must be tested for coronavirus and provided with personal protective equipment. [Emphasis added]

Among the questions asked of Mayorkas, the House Republicans want to know why border crossers are not being turned away under the Center for Disease Control’s Title 42 order that has helped stem the flow of illegal immigration to the U.S. by allowing federal officials to quickly return border crossers back to their native countries.

The lawmakers also want to know how many border crossers are being released into the U.S. interior and why, as well as how many border crossers are being released and eventually test positive for the coronavirus.

The signatories to the letter include:

Michael Burgess (R-TX)
Brian Babin (R-TX)
Chip Roy (R-TX)
Louie Gohmert (R-TX)
Lance Gooden (R-TX)
Ann Wagner (R-MO)

Days ago, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ® announced he was deploying the state’s National Guard and troops to high-risk areas of the U.S.-Mexico border.

“Texas supports legal immigration but will not be an accomplice to the open border policies that cause, rather than prevent, a humanitarian crisis in our state and endanger the lives of Texans,” Abbott wrote in a statement.

Title 42, cited in the lawmakers’ letter, has successfully expelled nearly 460,000 border crossers from the U.S. since March 2020. In the last four months, alone, between 62,000 to 65,000 border crossers have been expelled and deported monthly under Title 42.

As Breitbart News exclusively reported, the Biden administration is considering ending Title 42, which GOP lawmakers have previously said would invite a surge of illegal immigration.

Thanks to Biden’s ending the Remain in Mexico program and canceling a number of cooperative asylum agreements, federal officials released more than 800 border crossers into the U.S. in the first four days of this month, Breitbart News reported. Since February 19, DHS has released more than 1,100 Remain in Mexico migrants into the U.S.

Biden’s Catch and Release policy has proven unpopular with Americans. In a poll conducted last month of nearly 1,800 voters, 67 percent said border crossers should be returned to Mexico — as they were under the Remain in Mexico program — while just 33 percent said they should be released into the U.S. interior.

RE: Biden's* Border Bungling (Hospitals starting to fill up with Covid Illegals)
Quote:A spokesperson with the City of Brownsville, Texas, said on Monday the number of migrants who tested positive for Coronavirus and were subsequently released from U.S. custody doubled in recent days.

Felipe Romero told Fox News that 185 migrants were dropped off and rapid tested at the city’s main bus station — up from 108 less than one week ago.

Fox News reported:

The increased figures come as a camp housing around 800 migrants in nearby Matamoros closed Sunday, with most of those people being allowed onto U.S. soil.

Migrants once were forced to wait at the camp for their immigration cases to be processed under the Trump-era Migrant Protection Protocols policy, otherwise known as Remain-in-Mexico. But the Biden administration is now in the process of winding that effort down.

Romero said last week that Brownsville does not have the authority to prevent those who test positive for the coronavirus from traveling elsewhere in the U.S. — and are advising them to quarantine, follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, and social distance.

“The president of the United States, Biden, helps the people because it’s necessary, you know,” Mario, a Honduran who spent eight months at the camp with his family, told Fox News.

White House sources also told Fox News that it is aware of sick migrants being allowed to travel even if individuals who test positive should isolate for 14 days.

Breitbart News has reported on the growing crisis at the border, including sick migrants, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott calling on the National Guard to maintain security and public safety, and the apprehension of migrants who had crossed the U.S. border illegally being apprehended 50 miles inside of the country.

RE: Biden's* Border Bungling (Hospitals starting to fill up with Covid Illegals)
Quote:With the flash of knife, the latest border-jumping, migrant asylum seeker has wrought yet another trail of blood, hospitalizations, shots fired, and street memorials in a European nation. This time, a 22-year-old Afghan migrant asylum allegedly slashed seven pedestrians in the Swedish town of Vetlanda before police could disable and arrest him.

Although reporting is developing, the Afghan undoubtedly crossed the European Union’s external borders among several thousand young Afghan asylum applicants who traveled to Sweden in recent years via an Iran-Iraq-Turkey-Greece-Italy route and who are now being repatriated as ineligible.

How and why border-crossing migrants from Muslim-majority nations keep conducting such attacks pose lessons applicable to the American southern border, where thousands from the same Muslim-majority nations annually cross.

Jihad at the Border.
As discussed at length in America’s Covert Border War, The Untold Story of the Nation’s Struggle to Prevent Jihadist Infiltration, Europe’s experience showcases a new terrorism travel phenomenon on the world stage: that malevolent long-haul migrants from countries rife with Islamist terrorist organizations now routinely cross land borders of western nations and do so far less noticeably when high volumes of benevolent economic migrants have overwhelmed border management systems.

Security officials first realized the new terrorist border proliferation method after ISIS deployed operatives camouflaged among massive migrant caravans to attack Paris in November 2015 and Brussels in March 2016. Lone offender migrants and small cells have since neatly exploited the inability of western security services to vet hearts and minds as border control and asylum systems stagger under high volumes.

Now that record volumes plague the U.S.-Mexico border, American leaders should know that stressed receiving nations waved through people like the Afghan knife slasher of Vetlanda, the Tunisian who in October 2020 slashed three people in a Nice, France church, the Iraqi who in August 2020 purposefully hunted and killed German motorcyclists in an Opel Astra sedan, Europe’s most-wanted jihadist (captured in Italy in May 2020), the Sudanese migrant who in April 2020 killed two and wounded five more during a knife-slashing spree in the south of France, the five Tajik migrants caught planning to murder American military personnel in Germany, and many others besides.

Indeed, the best available data by researcher Sam Mullins in his book Jihadist Infiltration of Migrant Flows to Europe shows that at least 140 border-crossing refugees and migrants—likely an undercount—gamed asylum systems and killed and maimed over a thousand Europeans from 2011 to 2018. My research for “America’s Covert Border War” identified a likely undercounted 104 border-crossing migrant terrorists from 2014 to 2018. The numbers have since moved only higher.

Opening Europe to Catastrophe.

Europe’s crisis began in 2014 when the Syrian war spurred large-scale migration to the 27-member European Union’s common external borders. Tension built around the question: Will Europe let them in?

On August 24, 2015, German Chancellor Angela Merkel answered yes, we’ll take a million. Embedded in her message was a liberal progressive ideology of multiculturalism, that this was a virtuous, new kind of Germany that, pointedly unlike the old one, would happily import religious and racial diversity over the borders into Europe’s most prosperous economy. The Muslim world heard her message. Millions more immediately entered the pipeline and never really stopped coming.

In naming Merkel Person of the Year in December 2015, Time Magazine regaled her decision as “astounding” in that “the most generous, openhearted gesture of recent history blossomed from Germany, the country that within living memory blew apart the European continent and then the world by taking to gruesome extremes all the forces its Chancellor strives to hold in check: nationalism, nativism, self-righteousness, reversion to arms.”

Progressive liberal leaders and parties quickly brushed off scattered warnings about importing a terrorism threat over the borders as the xenophobia Merkel meant to vanquish. Reporters put other European leaders to the virtuosity test: Would they, too, demonstrate a commitment to humanitarian multiculturalism?

The answer was yes to that and no to the cruel, white tribalism of Old World Europe.

“Everyone must understand: you can’t ask for solidarity when there’s a problem and then exempt yourself from doing your duty when there’ a solution,” French President Hollande said a few months before the coordinated November 2015 suicide bombings that left 130 Parisians dead and 500 wounded at the hands of ISIS operatives deployed among the war refugee migrants.

Finnish Prime Minister Juha Sipila even offered one of his own houses to migrants.

“We should all take a look in the mirror and ask how we can help,” the prime minister told an interviewer. As those who favored multiculturalism marched for the migrants in Finnish cities, Sipila tweeted that he wanted to “develop Finland as an open, linguistically and culturally international country.”

Soon enough, 22-year-old Moroccan Abderrahman Bouanane Mechka mounted a running stabbing spree that killed two women and wounded eight more in Finland’s first jihadist attack.

Sweden’s Stefan Lofven tried to shame resisting eastern European governments for what he termed a “selfish approach,” calling their refusals of refugees “incompatible with humane European values.”

“I can understand if you say this crisis is a worry,” the prime minister said in an interview shortly before the Paris attacks. “But to say: ‘This isn’t my problem, we can’t accept Muslims,’ no, I don’t think this is part of our European values, and I can’t understand this kind of attitude.”

He and all of the others came to rue those statements as, for instance, Uzbekistan-born asylum-seeker Rakhmat Akilov, who’d migrated through Poland, plowed a hijacked a beer truck through a downtown Stockholm department store, crushing five shoppers to death and injuring ten others.

Nowadays, Lofven must be getting used to issuing familiar post-attack refrains that have become a sad new kind of genre for all of the European leaders: “Fear and horror should never be allowed to become part of our daily lives,” Lofven said of the Afghan border-crossing knifer.

From Merkel to Biden.
The parallels between European leadership views then and American Democrats now are as striking as the predictable results. Throughout the 2019 Democratic presidential primary campaign, Joe Biden and the other candidates sounded European-style refrains, vying for who would most warmly embrace illegal immigrants—who would most decriminalize illegal border entry, end detentions, halt deportations, and provide fastest paths to citizenship and government health care.

If Democratic Party messaging was pre-2015 Germany, Sweden, France, and Scandinavia, so was the response. Naturally, migrants around the world heard and acted on their talk. A mass migration has followed the Biden win, a tidal wave that has grown exponentially each month since November to 100,000 Border Patrol apprehensions in February. It is now collapsing the system.

Though most are Spanish-speaking, migrants from Muslim-majority nations are among them.

The Biden administration has the precious advantage of forewarning in Europe’s experience. But all signs so far indicate the new administration is going to squander it.

Quote:White House press secretary Jen Psaki refused Tuesday to confirm reports that the number of detained unaccompanied minors at the border had tripled since Biden became president.

“I’m not going to confirm numbers from here,” Psaki said during the White House press briefing. “Obviously, the Department of Homeland Security and others are–oversee the programs and the engagements that happen at the border.

Psaki was repeatedly questioned about the number of unattended minors in custody by the border control as reporters noted that the numbers had tripled just in the last two weeks to over 3,200 — more children held in detention centers at a single time than during President Donald Trump’s presidency.

Both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris strongly condemned such facilities during the 2020 presidential campaign, accusing former President Donald Trump of putting children and “babies in cages.”

“Jen, why won’t you confirm that number?” one reporter asked. “That’s a very important number.”

Psaki repeatedly referred reporters to the Department of Homeland Security.

“But we’ve talked to them, Jen,” the reporter replied. “They won’t confirm the numbers.”

“I would encourage you to go back to them and ask them again,” Psaki replied. “We’re not going to confirm them are from the White House. It’s not our program.”

The White House is tracking the numbers of kids at the border, as they repeatedly deny that there is a crisis taking place on their watch.

“Look, I don’t think we need to sit here and put new labels on what we have already conveyed is challenging,” Psaki said, when asked if the numbers at the border had reached the level of a crisis.

She said the detained children would be moved “as quickly as possible” from the Border Patrol facilities to shelters where they could have educational resources, health resources, mental health resources, and legal aid.

Psaki told reporters that they would open up the migrant facilities in the future to reporters to see the centers personally.

“We’re committed to doing that,” she said, but added she did not have a timeline for when that would be.

“We want to do it with respect for the privacy of the people staying there, people who are being housed there, but also abiding by COVID protocols,” she added.

Quote:President Joe Biden has a “free-for-all policy” for migrants seeking entry across the southern border while imposing coronavirus tests on American citizens returning home from international travel, noted Rep. Jodey Arrington (R-TX) on Tuesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow.

“We’re in the middle of a pandemic,” Arrington stated. “This president seems to not mind to put restrictions and mandates on his citizens, and yet there’s this free-for-all policy now at the border, because he’s unraveled the Trump policies, and he is looking to bring [in] thousands, over [and] beyond just those that were waiting in Mexico for their asylum claims to be processed.”

In a letter to the president written in February, Arrington and 25 representatives warned of epidemiological threats to Americans via the spread of coronavirus due to the Biden administration’s overturning of former President Donald Trump’s “protective immigration measures.”

“We’re saying [to Joe Biden], you cannot speak out of one side of your mouth, saying that there’s a pandemic, we must stop the spread, we must have all these restrictions, [while letting] illegal immigrants into this country,” Arrington said.

“[Joe Biden is] reinstating catch and release and jeopardizing the health and safety of the American people,” Arrington said, “Not to mention all the other elements of the crisis: the humanitarian side, the drugs and crime, and the billions — over a hundred billion dollars — in cost to the country, and especially border states like Texas.”

“[Joe Biden] and his team are saying there’s not a crisis at the border, but these people are showing up with Biden T-shirts on, and we’ve seen twice the number of illegal immigrants crossing our border — and apprehensions — than we did January last year,” Arrington said.

Last week, foreign nationals gathered at the southern border demanding entry into America. Many wore T-shirts with Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign logo and the words “Please let us in!” Some also held signs declaring, “Biden — please let me enter.”

Biden’s immigration and border policies are fueling mass migration across the U.S.-Mexico border, Arrington stated.

“We’re on track to have 117,000 unaccompanied [migrant] children, which is the record number,” he said.

Despite issuing an executive order mandating COVID-19 testing for Americans returning home from abroad, the Biden administration is not requiring coronavirus testing for foreigners seeking entry to the U.S.

Arrington joined Breitbart News’s Brandon Darby in 2016, prior to becoming a congressman, to tour the U.S.-Mexico border. The two traveled to Laredo, Texas, to observe what U.S. Border Patrol agents deal with.

Breitbart News reported at the time:

Regardless of the dangers, Arrington toured the hottest spots that Los Zetas use to smuggle both human beings and narcotics into Texas — and he stayed out with us until 3:30 A.M. The tour was no doubt eye opening, as Arrington was taken through the border neighborhoods where very few Border Patrol agents were present and not one single Laredo cop nearby.

Arrington warned, “[Biden’s] policies are only inviting criminal behavior. Not only [does the legislation say] you won’t be held accountable when you get here, [Biden’s] legislation that was introduced recently in the House on immigration reform — quote-unquote — will decriminalize illegal crossings and give a pathway to citizenship for millions who are here, who’ve broken the law, [and] cut in line.”

RE: Biden's* Border Bungling (Hospitals starting to fill up with Covid Illegals)
Quote:White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki wilted under pressure during Tuesday’s press conference as reporters repeatedly pressed the administration for answers about President Joe Biden’s border crisis.

One of the most notable exchanges came when a reporter asked Psaki if newly reported-on statistics about the border crisis were accurate. Psaki responded by claiming that the reporter should ask the Department of Homeland Security about the numbers because “it’s not our program.” The Department of Homeland Security is run by the Biden administration and Biden’s nominee to lead the department, Alejandro Mayorkas, was confirmed by the U.S. Senate and he now runs the department.

“I would encourage you to go back to them and ask them again. We’re not going to confirm them from the White House. It’s not our program,” Psaki claimed. “It’s the Department of Homeland Security.”

WATCH:

During another exchange, Psaki was pressed about whether the administration would admit that there was a crisis going on on the southern border.

“Look, I don’t think we need to sit here and put new labels on what we have already conveyed is challenging, what we have conveyed is a top priority for the president, what our policy teams are working on every single day,” Psaki said. “They obviously, there was a trip to the border this weekend. They are working over the course of every day since then on putting in place policies that can help address what we’re seeing and help ensure that we are keeping these kids safe and moving them as quickly as possible from border patrol facilities to shelters where they can have access to educational resources, health resources, mental health resources, legal aid, et cetera.”

Several minutes later, another reporter pressed Psaki again on the border crisis, asking, “why has this administration been so reluctant to call it a crisis?”

“With the huge uptick in the number of migrants being detained, including thousands of children, if that doesn’t qualify as a crisis, what does?” the reporter continued.

“Well, because we think that it’s most important to explain the substantive policy of what’s happening, what the root causes are of why these kids are coming, and what we’re doing to try to solve what is a very challenging circumstance at the border,” Psaki said. ”

Quote:The Biden administration scrambled to find shelter beds for unaccompanied children arriving at the southern border despite Trump administration official’s warning of increasing migration to the U.S.

Last week, facilities holding migrant children were allowed to open at 100% operational capacity despite COVID-19 regulations, a Health and Human Services (HHS) spokesperson confirmed to the Daily Caller News Foundation Friday. Nearly 6,000 unaccompanied children were encountered in January, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

“We were sounding the alarm right after the election when the numbers started going up,” acting CBP commissioner Mark Morgan told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “No one was listening, before I left HHS, [the Office of Refugee Resettlement] was already complaining that the UAC’s [unaccompanied alien children] they were testing at an 11% positive rate for COVID.”

“I think they’re [the Biden administration] absolutely caught off guard by the numbers that have come to the border as fast as they are,” Morgan said.

Around 350 unaccompanied minors are crossing the border daily and CBP apprehended over 4,000 migrants on multiple days during the first week of March, The Washington Post reported. The number of unaccompanied minors crossing the border has quadrupled since fall 2020 and overwhelmed HHS shelters are leaving the children in CBP custody longer than the legal limit.

“I think you’re going to see the unaccompanied minor numbers well in excess of 9,000 in February,” Morgan told the DCNF. He added that he expects unaccompanied children are spending, on average, around 80 hours in CBP custody.

The Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act requires that unaccompanied minors be transferred to ORR care except for in “exceptional circumstances,” according to the United States Government Accountability Office. Unaccompanied minors from Mexico and Canada may also be allowed decide to return to their country of residence.

Title 42 prohibited people from Mexico or Canada from entering the U.S. due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, according to CBP. However, the Biden administration repealed Title 42 mandated expulsions for unaccompanied minors, Morgan said.

“We’re right back where we were at the height of the crisis in 2019,” Morgan told the DCNF. “In February I think the numbers are going to be close to if not over 100,000 in a month, they’re getting 5,000 a day, over 400 UAC’s a day, under anyone’s standards those are crisis-level numbers.”

The Biden administration should return to some of the policies that were effective under the Trump administration such as the Migrant Protection Protocols, often referred to as the remain in Mexico program, John Hostettler, the vice president of federal affairs for States Trust, told the DCNF.

“I see it doing nothing but getting worse as the weather gets better,” Hostettler told the DCNF. “With the green light that the Biden administration is putting out I think that it’s just going to get worse.”

President Joe Biden issued a mandatory review of the Migrant Protection Protocols through an executive order in February, Reuters reported. Asylum seekers will no longer be registered with the program that kept around 65,000 migrants in Mexico as they awaited their court dates.

Quote:Texas Governor Greg Abbott expressed outrage after learning the Biden Administration has not provided COVID-19 vaccinations to Border Patrol agents. Abbott called the lack of vaccinations “one of the most reprehensible things I’ve heard.”

“What I am about to tell you may be one of the most reprehensible things I’ve heard this whole time,” he said. “The Biden Administration is not providing vaccinations for the Border Patrol.”

The governor’s comments came during a press conference in Mission, Texas, on Tuesday after receiving a briefing from Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol officials.

“We have Border Patrol [agents] whose lives are on the line of a daily basis — an hourly basis — and the Biden Administration will not provide those Border Patrol [agents] with the vaccinations they need” the outraged governor stated. “The Biden Administration should surge vaccines to Texas to all men and women on the Border Patrol this week.”

“Anything less than that is the epitome of inhumanity,” Abbot stated.

The governor reminded reporters that Border Patrol agents work for the federal government.

“They should be provided a vaccine by the federal government,” he explained. “The federal government has made a priority of vaccinating other federal government employees that are not on the front line like the Border Patrol. And that’s why I have this expectation that the Border Patrol agents, who are on the front line, be treated like other federal employees that have already been vaccinated by the federal government.”

“That’s why I demand that the president send vaccines to the Border Patrol this week to vaccinate our Border Patrol agents.”

Border Patrol agents are frequently exposed to migrants infected with the Coronavirus. In September, Breitbart Texas reported about agents rescuing a migrant woman who fell unconscious after being pulled out of a grain hopper rail car. Agents worked to save the woman’s life and later learned she tested positive for COVID-19.

“With a noted increase in COVID-19 infections among detainees, smugglers continue showing their lack of regard for the safety of the people they exploit by placing them in compromising, cramped spaces without regard to high temperatures, PPE, or means of escape,” Laredo Sector officials stated. “In doing so, not only do they endanger those being smuggled, but they also endanger our agents and communities.”

The city of Brownsville, Texas, reported last week that six percent of the migrants being released at bus stations by Border Patrol officials tested positive for COVID-19. All of these migrants were in contact with multiple Border Patrol agents and other CBP employees and contractors.

Quote:On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) predicted that by the summer there will be “probably somewhere around a million people trying to get into this country illegally.”

McCaul said, “President Biden says he wants us to be humane. He’s actually created a humanitarian crisis. These poor children, they get trafficked all the way up that dangerous route. And now, we don’t have enough detention space to put them in, and then you’ve got the COVID crisis down there as well. I think they have created this Biden border crisis. They need to fix it.”

He added, “I think it’s not only a threat to these children who are being exploited, but — and they know the laws in our country. But it’s also a threat to Americans, this population coming in. Biden has cut off these agreements with Mexico, Central America, where they’d have to stay in Mexico to apply for asylum. And now, they’re — I’ve seen this before, Martha, and I predict this, by summer, you’re going to see, as my governor just said, probably somewhere around a million people trying to get into this country illegally. And as I’ve said before, it’s ironic that you can get into this country illegally easier than you can get a tour of this Capitol right behind me.”

Quote:McALLEN, Texas—As President Joe Biden rolled back several existing border initiatives, the number of people crossing illegally into the United States skyrocketed.

In February—despite a week of freezing weather—Border Patrol apprehended 101,535 illegal border crossers along the southern border, according to Jaeson Jones, a former Texas Department of Public Safety captain. Another 26,000 people evaded capture, he said.

The February number is almost triple the apprehensions from February 2020, when Border Patrol caught almost 37,000 people, while in 2019, on the cusp of the most recent crisis, the number was almost 77,000.

Many of those crossing are unaccompanied minors, who cannot be turned back if they’re from a country other than Mexico. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has just opened a second facility for the burgeoning number of minors. As of Feb. 28, approximately 7,700 unaccompanied minors were being housed across in HHS facilities.

Quote:Law enforcement sources report that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is busing hundreds of unaccompanied children (UACs) from the Rio Grande Valley to other border communities to alleviate overcrowding.

The UACs are transferring to Laredo, Carrizo Springs, and Eagle Pass, Texas, for processing and temporary detention. The children are stuck in limbo at Border Patrol stations as the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) struggles to place them in suitable shelter facilities before release.

The movement of the UACs should come as no surprise. Apprehensions climbed steadily over the past weeks with nearly 2,000 arrests by Border Patrol on Saturday alone. Nearly 600 of those were unaccompanied children.

In a visit to the Texas border region on the same day, senior Biden Administration officials toured a Border Patrol Station and a Health and Human Services detention facility for UACs. Media were not permitted to accompany the delegation, so little is known about the visit.

Another senior CBP official is making a visit to the Rio Grande Valley. Sources report that Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott is currently meeting with overwhelmed Border Patrol agents and exploring solutions for the UAC situation. There has been minimal news coverage of the visit, signaling that a previously reported media blackout continues.

Law enforcement sources indicate “got-away” numbers are on the rise as Border Patrol agents struggle to deal with humanitarian needs in lieu of conducting routine patrol activities. February apprehension statistics are set to be released later this week.

Quote:As we reported earlier, Jen Psaki is refusing to say how many unaccompanied minor kids are being detained in custody amidst reports that the number has tripled in the last couple of weeks alone to 3250.

Psaki even had the audacity to refers reporters to the DHS for answers saying “it’s not our program” as if the DHS wasn’t part of the executive branch. Pro tip, Jen? It is, you guys are responsible for all of it. But this is the little game Psaki’s been playing with reporters, she sends them to an agency who then as the DHS did in this case then sends them back to Psaki, meanwhile still getting no answers. Meanwhile there are thousands more reported to be on the way here.

The Biden team was also tried to sell us on “migrant facilities” as though the ‘cages’ no longer existed. But the cages are still there, which the NY Times confirmed, noting that Biden was breaking the law in holding kids in CBP holding areas them for longer than 72 hours. Jen Psaki had previously tried to explain that ways suggesting it was due to the snowstorm in the middle of last month. But it’s still happening, likely because of the huge surge they created with their own policies.

The New York Times also termed the CBP holding areas as “jail-like facilities” avoiding the term ‘cages.’

“The number of migrant children in custody along the border has tripled in the past two weeks to more than 3,250, and many of them are being held in jail-like facilities for longer than the three days allowed by law.”

If Trump were in charge, we’d also see his name run throughout the tweet or blaming him within it. We’d probably also see stronger language about the law being broken. Now, notice no mention of Biden in the tweet or that all of this surge and more kids being held is because of Biden’s own policies.

Then they spread this nonsense, that it’s somehow “more humane.”

Pray tell, how? Biden’s actually holding more kids longer and breaking the law, what’s “more humane” about that?

But I will give them that at least they noted he was breaking the law and they did use the word “jail” (albeit “jail-like”).

So where are the Democrats and the rest of the media calling for Joe Biden to stop encouraging this situation and to call him out for breaking the law? We heard spin against Trump 24/7, most of which was unfair and Trump wasn’t making the situation worse by encouraging people to come here.

Quote:Bonchie reported earlier on how White House press secretary Jen Psaki insulted our intelligence yet again during the daily press briefing when she was questioned on specifics about the border crisis.

When she was asked if the White House considered what was happening at the border a “crisis,” Psaki predictably did a semantics tap dance (as she often does) and stated that we didn’t “need to sit here and put new labels on what we have already conveyed is challenging.”

Another answer that defied all logic was when she was asked for more details on the number of migrants being held at the border.

One of Psaki’s go-to answers on border questions is to default to telling the journalist making the inquiry to press the Department of Homeland Security on the matter. Like clockwork, that’s exactly what happened when a reporter inquired about the numbers.

For those who missed it, here’s the incredible back and forth that happened in the briefing room when Psaki was asked if it was true that the number being held “had tripled.” She literally told the reporter that DHS was not the White House’s “program” and advised them to keep checking with DHS:

It was a bizarre answer to give considering DHS is, ya know, a federal department with officials who are supposed to be reporting to Biden as to what’s happening at this country’s southern border. So, yes, Biden should be able to provide these answers and Psaki should be able to relay them to reporters who ask about them. It’s probably in the top 5 on the border questions members of the White House press corps ask her on any given day.

The lack of preparedness on her part is part of a bigger problem we’ve seen from this White House over the last six weeks in terms of transparency. As the media spotlight on this issue gets brighter, the White House seems more and more hellbent on keeping people in the dark. This is all made worse by the fact that Biden’s handlers are steering reporters away from him as often as possible without allowing him to answer any questions about the situation down south, as happened during a public appearance Biden made this morning in DC.

Even more problematic on the White House’s unwillingness to provide specifics was this report from Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy, who said on the network tonight that Biden sent a delegation of lawmakers to the border over the weekend, but days later has not been briefed on it:

I mean it’s great Biden sent a group of lawmakers to dig deeper into what is going on, but where’s the sense of urgency in getting that information from the people who went and passing it along to the press and the public?

This is crazy. Next to the pandemic and the economy, the border crisis ranks right up there as a major issue the American people are paying attention to and deserve answers on. The fact that Biden has not yet met with the delegation he sent to the border to gather information raises more troubling questions as to just what’s going on and who might really be running things at the White House. It also makes Psaki’s attempts at redirecting reporters to the DHS look even more foolish.

Here’s the bottom line: Biden is the president. DHS reports to him. He sent a delegation on a fact-finding mission to the border several days ago. He should have these answers, and reporters should not be rerouted to DHS in order to get them.

I dunno, maybe frustrated reporters should throw caution to the wind and try directing questions about border security (and other issues) to Vice President Kamala Harris instead of Biden? At this point – or at least until Biden finally holds that first formal solo press conference, it might be worth a try.*

That includes briefing clients on the latest immigration rules, using technology to outfox authorities, and disguising smuggling operations as travel agencies, assessments showed.

RE: Biden's* Border Bungling (Hospitals starting to fill up with Covid Illegals)
Quote:Sources report that overcrowding at Border Patrol facilities increases daily. At one Border Patrol Sector in Arizona, Tuesday’s detention figures show 500% occupancy over the COVID-19 adjusted capacity. According to sources, the detention capacity recommendations are made to provide the safest environment for front-line agents and migrants during the pandemic.

Until recently, most migrants entering the United States illegally were swiftly returned to Mexico under a CDC emergency order. Many migrants, including family units and unaccompanied children (UACs), were returned within two hours of crossing. The Biden Administration is watering down the application of the CDC order, resulting in the reported overcrowding.

Under the Biden Administration, detention times are stretching particularly for families with young children, unaccompanied minors, and pregnant females. A surge in arrests of unaccompanied minors has created an untenable situation for the Border Patrol and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Sources report as of Tuesday there were more than 6,700 migrants in Border Patrol custody across the United States. Slightly more than 50% of those detained are unaccompanied children. As HHS struggles to find suitable shelter for the UACs, the Border Patrol has made attempts to alleviate the overcrowding by busing UACs from the Rio Grande Valley in Texas to other border communities with available bed space.

Sources in El Paso, Texas, report that 80% of all migrants detained are UACs. The running daily average for UAC arrests nationally exceeds 400.

At the current pace, the Border Patrol may see an additional 9,000 UACs illegally cross before April 1. In the remaining months of Fiscal Year 2021, another 70,000 UACs may cross–further complicating matters.

According to HHS statistics for 2018, the average cost to detain UACs overall was $1.8 billion. The average length of detention was just short of 57 days per child.

According to HHS, “Reunification with most parents is in the best interest of the child, but proper and careful vetting for child safety is essential.” This helps explains the purpose and length of detention, officials say.

“Some parents have been found unsuitable for reunification because of issues discovered during a criminal background check, including child cruelty, child smuggling, narcotics crimes, robbery convictions, and a warrant for murder,” according to HHS.

RE: Biden's* Border Bungling (Hospitals starting to fill up with Covid Illegals)

The Biden Border Crisis Is Here
https://rumble.com/veij2z-the-border-bor...p&mc=56yab

Quote:Let’s face it. There is a migrant crisis brewing at the southern border and the Biden administration is lying about it. After years of criticizing former President Donald Trump for his approach to immigration, Biden and his team are already showing themselves to be quite inept when it comes to managing a situation like this.

During a Tuesday press conference, White House Press Secretary Jen “Circle Back” Psaki refused to refer to the situation at the border as a crisis when asked about the situation. “Look, I don’t think we have to put new labels on what we’ve already conveyed is challenging, what we have conveyed is a top priority for the president, what our policy teams are working on every day,” she answered.

She continued, explaining “they, obviously, there was a trip to the border this weekend, they are working over the course of every day since then on putting in place policies that can help address what we’re seeing and help ensure that we are keeping these kids safe and moving them as quickly as possible” into shelters instead of detention.

The press secretary said letting unaccompanied migrant children is a “policy decision” and the “most humane approach to addressing what are very difficult circumstances in the region.” She did manage to acknowledge “more children” were coming over the border.

While the administration is willing to use the word “crisis” when it comes to advancing their policy objectives it has not yet seen fit to address the border problem as such. The Post Millennial noted, “the Biden administration has named four crises that they have used to underpin their policies. These were: COVID-19, the economy, racism, and the climate. The administration clearly does not want to add another crisis, that of illegal immigration at the border.”

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) has been a vocal critic of the Biden administration’s handling of the situation since it began. In a written statement, he wrote, “There’s nothing ‘effective, moral, or humane’ about empowering human, sex, and drug traffickers to increase their activity across our southern border and in American communities.”

President Biden also dodged questions about the migrant crisis when reporters attempted to ask about it during a visit to a small business in D.C.

The Biden administration has also been cagey when it comes to questions about the treatment of migrant children crossing the border. And yes, that was a double entendre. Much to the consternation of the few progressives who are actually consistent, the president has been using the same facilities to house these children that the Trump administration did when the left was pretending to care about “kids in cages.”

But the administration is also being cagey regarding its policies regarding the unaccompanied minors crossing the border. Psaki “refused to confirm a reporter’s question on Tuesday about whether more than 3,3250 unaccompanied migrant children are being held by the administration, instead directing reporters to the Department of Homeland Security,” according to Washington Examiner.

“I would encourage you to go back to them and ask them again. We’re not going to confirm them from the White House. It’s not our program. It’s the Department of Homeland Security’s program,” Psaki said, seemingly forgetting that the Department of Homeland Security is part of the executive branch, which her boss, President Joe Biden leads.

As you might imagine, Republicans have been slamming the Biden administration for its refusal to communicate effectively on the situation developing at the southern border. Fox News reported “Republicans on the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday wrote to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas objecting to what they described as ‘silence’ from the administration about the crisis at the southern border and the plan to tackle it.”

In a letter, written by 20 Republicans serving on the committee, said, “we still do not know what the administration’s plan is, if any, to reduce illegal border crossings by [unaccompanied children] and family units along the southern border.”

The lawmakers pointed out that the administration has not indicated what steps it is taking to prevent COVID-19 infections from spreading into border communities as it is releasing migrants into the interior.

“The administration’s silence in this matter can only be understood as confirmation that the administration does not have a coherent plan to respond to this crisis,” they wrote.

Republicans on the committee previously wrote the administration last month, asking for documentation and information regarding the budding crisis and the president’s plan to reduce illegal entry into the U.S. Predictably, the administration did not answer.

Despite the president’s protestations, the situation at the border has grown increasingly worrisome over the past month.

From Fox News:

A senior DHS official confirmed to Fox News that the number of migrant children in custody along the border has tripled in the past two weeks to more than 3,250 and that more than 1,360 have been held for longer than the allowed three days. The numbers were first reported by The New York Times.

Multiple sources told Fox that numbers to be released this week will show about 100,000 apprehensions in February, higher than in February 2019 at the beginning of that year’s border crisis.

The administration is allowing child migrant facilities to expand to 100% capacity as it looks to cope with the numbers, while it is opening other facilities — including looking at using a Virginia military base.

Meanwhile, Mayorkas this week urged DHS staff to volunteer to help border agencies cope with the ‘overwhelming’ migrant numbers at the border.

It is yet another indication that the White House is aware of the seriousness of the circumstances at the border, but is unwilling to be forthcoming with the American public about the issue. We can already imagine how this would go if the shoe were on the other foot, can’t we? The activist press would be eviscerating Trump for engaging in similar behavior.

But, whether Democrats like it or not, the current migrant crisis is putting the Biden administration to the test, and so far, they are not faring too well, which is likely why they refuse to have a serious interaction with the press on the matter. While the activist media is comfortable with covering for the administration, at some point even they have to pretend to be journalists from time to time.

Regardless of whether the president decides to come clean with the public about the problem, America will see how his team will handle the affair, and it will likely be yet another indicator that he is not up to the task of governing.

RE: Biden's* Border Bungling (Hospitals starting to fill up with Covid Illegals)
Quote:President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is pushing to stop applying a public health order, designed to stop the spread of the Chinese coronavirus, to adults arriving with children at the United States-Mexico border.

Early last year, former President Trump invoked the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) Title 42 order that gives federal immigration officials authority to quickly detain and return border crossers to their native countries.

Since March 2020, more than 531,600 border crossers have been expelled from the U.S. under the Title 42 order. The Biden administration, in February alone, expelled more than 72,100 border crossers using Title 42.

For weeks, as Breitbart News exclusively reported, the Biden administration has eyed plans to fully end the Title 42 order, which lawmakers have said would cause a tsunami of illegal immigration at the border.

Failing to justify such a move, top DHS officials like Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas are pushing to stop applying Title 42 to adults who arrive with children at the border, a source close to DHS told Breitbart News.

The source said there are internal battles occurring at the agency with officials around Mayorkas trying to stop Title 42 from applying to adults arriving with children and other factions wanting to keep the order in place so as not to further overwhelm the border.

“Single adults can spread coronavirus but family units can’t?” the source said.

Since March 2020, nearly 34,000 migrant families have been expelled from the U.S. under the Title 42 order. Should the administration reverse course on this particular group of border crossers, these family units would be processed by federal immigration officials and likely released into the nation’s interior.

This week, a group of House Republicans wrote to Mayorkas demanding answers as to how many border crossers the Biden administration is releasing into the U.S. interior and how many are testing positive for coronavirus after their release.

Reports last week confirmed that more than 100 border crossers released into the U.S. interior had tested positive for the coronavirus. Even after their positive result, the border crossers were free to continue traveling into the U.S.

“… this is a guaranteed super spreader event,” the GOP lawmakers wrote.

Quote:Illegal immigrants have torn down fences, left “bricks of marijuana” and even stolen vehicles from a ranch near Carrizo Springs, Texas, and it’s happening more frequently since the election of President Joe Biden, a rancher told the Daily Caller News Foundation Wednesday.

The changes in visible foot traffic around the ranch increased in the months leading up to the transfer of power when Biden was making promises and after he took office, Brock Wilkerson told the Daily Caller News Foundation. Wilkerson, a native of south Texas, has leased the ranch just outside Carrizo Springs for hunting and cattle ranching for around 15 years.

“It’s not a safe environment, I can guarantee you that,” Wilkerson told the DCNF. He added that run-ins were sporadic over the last 15 years where tracks were found about every few weeks, but recently he’s seen between seven and 10 sets of tracks appear over a two-day period.

The ranch is located in Carrizo Springs, about 30 miles from the Eagle Pass Port of Entry at the southern border, according to Wilkerson. He said that immigrants have frequently cut the fence at the ranch’s perimeter in order to access the highway where they can be picked up while avoiding checkpoints.

“We, fortunately, are capable of doing a lot of things on our own but this past week we had to replace approximately 100 yards of fence and because of the way the damage was done it took us about a full day,” Wilkerson told the DCNF.

Illegal immigrants previously stole a Jeep off the ranch and drove it to San Antonio, Texas, Wilkerson told the DCNF. Illegal immigrants have “literally cut into the house, they found a steel saw and did thousands of dollars worth of damage to get inside the house,” Wilkerson said.

“The trash alone is astronomical, you would never believe … I could probably go out to the ranch right now and find 50 to 80 backpacks,” Wilkerson told the DCNF. He added that trespassers have torn up deer blinds, and left plastic tarps and water bottles scattered across the ranch and that a neighboring ranch has experienced similar problems.

CBP did not respond to the DCNF’s request for comment.

RE: Biden's* Border Bungling (Hospitals starting to fill up with Covid Illegals)
Quote:Texas mayor Don McLaughlin Jr. said the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border is going to get bad fast and warned the 2019 immigration surge will seem like a "cakewalk" compared to what will happen under President Biden.

McLaughlin Jr. said Wednesday during an appearance on "America Reports" that his city of Uvalde is experiencing a dramatic surge in immigrant-related apprehensions and crimes, including an increase in high-speed car chases between police and smugglers.

"We’re having 10 to 12 chases, high-speed chases, through our communities a week now," McLaughlin said. "We’ve never seen this before."

McLaughlin added the chases ranged anywhere from 95 to 105 miles an hour and also noted an increase in break-ins throughout the region by illegal immigrants. He said fault lies with the federal government for failing to anticipate and handle the rise in migrant crossings.

McLaughlin added the Biden administration needs to shut down the border immediately and have people enter the country through legal processes, or local governments in Texas will continue to deal with the fallout, including an influx of COVID-positive migrants.

Despite this, the Biden administration continues to reject calling the situation a "crisis."

Asked about the issue during her press conference Tuesday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki pushed back on adding labels to the "challenging" situation.

Psaki has maintained the administration sought to abide by COVID-19 protocols, but it's unclear how much authorities were screening migrants for the virus.

According to Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, last week, thousands of migrants haven't been tested.

"Over 10,000 people have come in through the lower Rio Grande Valley," Cuellar said to KTXS 12. "Those folks are not being tested."

Border agents disagreed, telling the outlet that "CBP personnel conduct initial inspections for symptoms or risk factors associated with COVID-19 and consult with onsite medical personnel, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or local health systems as appropriate."

Quote:Border Patrol agents assigned to the five Texas-based sectors apprehended nearly 64,000 migrants in February. This represents an increase of more than 27 percent from the previous month.

Agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley, Laredo, Del Rio, Big Bend, and El Paso Sectors apprehended 63,734 migrants in February, according to the Southwest Border Land Encounters Report released by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials on Wednesday. This represents an increase of 13,619 migrants over the January report. Note: The El Paso Sector includes apprehensions in New Mexico.

The Texas sectors account for 65 percent of all migrant border apprehensions, the report indicates.

The Rio Grande Valley Sector is clearly the epicenter of the current border crisis with nearly 28,000 migrants (nearly 29 percent) being apprehended out of the total apprehensions of 96,974. The apprehensions in the RGV Sector jumped 63,7 percent from January’s 17,056.

The El Paso Sector is next with 13,181 apprehensions — up 24 percent from January. The Big Bend Sector experienced an increase of 16 percent over the previous month. The Del Rio and Laredo Sectors both reported a slight decrease in apprehensions — 0.7 and 1.7 percent respectively.

By demographic category, the five Texas-based sectors apprehended 41,467 single adults, 7,056 unaccompanied alien children, and 15,211 family unit aliens.

In the Rio Grande Valley Sector alone, Border Patrol agents apprehended 10,489 unaccompanied minors representing more than 55 percent of the 18,945 minors apprehended in all nine southwest border sectors.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Troy Miller, senior official performing the duties of the commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported more than 3,000 of the unaccompanied minors apprehended nationally are under the age of 12. The remaining minors are between 13 and 17 years of age.

Quote:Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said Thursday on ABC’s “The View” that President Joe Biden “inherited” a mess on the U.S.-Mexico border from former President Donald Trump.

Co-host Meghan McCain asked, “You were a vocal critic of Trump’s immigration policy of separating the children from their families at the border. You called it cruel and inhumane, and quote, ‘So unlike the America we have known.’ It happened under Obama, and kids are still being detained under President Biden, and his Press Secretary Jen Psaki admitted they have to get their act together with their border policy. Why haven’t you been as critical of President Biden as you were of President Trump, and for Republicans like me that are confused that this is still going on, and there seems to be a different media narrative, can you bring me some clarity?”

Schumer said, “Let me just say this, Joe Biden inherited a huge mess on immigration, and it’s not going to be cleaned up in a month. He’s only been in office since, you know, January 20th, about six weeks, I guess it is, but he’s different. His view of immigration is not like Donald Trump’s, who was nasty, negative, horrible to immigrants. His view is more like your father’s view and my view, which is compassionate but also at the present time competent.”

He added, “One of the problems with the Trump administration is they had such incompetence. They are rolling up their sleeves and working on this. I think it will get better in the next few months. If it doesn’t, I will go to them and say, you’ve got to do better. I will be public. But I’ve got to give them a little bit of a chance because they inherited a big, big mess created by Donald Trump whose views on immigrants— it just turned me off so. To be so nasty to these people and to separate the children from the parents and not care about it. Whoa.”

Quote:"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled … sex offenders … yearning to …" Wait … what?

Customs and Border Protection announced yesterday that more than 100,000 illegal aliens were apprehended at the border. That is more than any time in recent history except for the peak months of the 2019 border crisis. And it's getting worse every day. But what few people have noticed is that it's not just impoverished illegal aliens coming in. The cartels and smugglers use that flow of family units and children to tie down border agents with processing and medical care while they bring in some of the worst human beings alive, including previously deported sex offenders.

Buried in the newly released border apprehension numbers is the deduced fact that year-to-date, CBP is apprehending, on average, more than three times the number of sex offenders they did in fiscal year 2020.

As you can see, after just five months of this fiscal year, CBP has caught more sex offenders than it did during the entire FY 2020, for an annualized pace of more than three times that of last year and greater than any other year since the agency started tracking apprehensions by criminal category.

Remember, under the Trump administration, many criminal aliens and sex offenders were deported. Now is the perfect time for them to re-enter the country. The cartels have been known to strategically bring over the criminal aliens who don't want to meet a border agent while the smugglers are tying down the agents with the family units. The cartels typically charge more to bring over the high-value individuals. Thus, if 210 were caught despite this successful business model, how many of them do you think we did not catch while the Border Patrol plays babysitter?

Based on data obtained by TheBlaze from a border agent, just for the month of February, CBP recorded 26,825 "gotaways." They calculate these numbers based on a mix of counting footprints in the ground and adding them to the hits they get on all the cameras and sensors. Then they compare those suspected infiltrations against the apprehension numbers. The difference between the two is the rough estimation of how many people got away that day in the given area of operation.

However, given how taxed the Border Patrol is at this point, it's truly hard to imagine they are fully aware of all the gotaways. One veteran border patrol agent who spoke to TheBlaze anonymously because he was not authorized to speak to the media believes those numbers are much higher.

"None of my partners are properly counting and recording the gotaway numbers," said the agent, who patrols the front lines in Texas. "With the stress of the border flow and all the COVID regulations on our operations, that is the last thing on the mind of an agent. The number of gotaways in Texas is likely exponentially higher."

What this all means is that the invitation for the world's impoverished people to crash our border is allowing the cartels to strategically bring over many more criminal aliens than we can imagine. As I reported earlier, the Cochise County Sheriff's Department estimates that only 35% of those detected on their cameras are apprehended and that most of them are drug runners and criminal aliens.

As I've reported from covering immigration over the years, sex offenders, particularly child sex offenders, have been rampant among the illegal alien population from certain countries. A quick look at the past few years of ICE enforcement data reveals that ICE typically arrests illegal aliens who have a cumulative tally of 12,000-15,000 sex offense charges and convictions every year. That's an awful lot of sex offenders who have been deported in recent years and are likely trying to get back into the country while Biden is offering them the perfect cover of the family units.

According to data from Girls Not Brides, a global nonprofit against child marriage, the child marriage rates for girls in Latin American countries from which we are seeing an increase in illegal immigration are particularly high, especially in rural areas. The organization estimate that 34% of all married Honduran women were with their male spouses as minors.

One report from only 30 percent of North Carolina counties found that in just an 18-month period in 2018 and 2019, more than 331 illegal aliens have been charged with 1,172 child rapes and child sexual assaults. Just one year's arrests by ICE's small forces netted illegal aliens who were charged with a total of 6,888 "sex offenses," 5,350 "sexual assaults," and 1,739 "commercialized sexual assaults."

Consequently, every time you see large numbers of illegal alien families tying down our border agents, just realize that thousands of previously deported criminal aliens, including sex offenders, are sneaking in surreptitiously and being brought in strategically.

Even for the few criminal aliens who are caught, you can't assume that they will be re-incarcerated. Not only have ICE removals in the interior plummeted 60% under the Biden administration, but officials are releasing even some of the criminals who are freshly caught re-entering the country illegally. U.S. District Judge Drew Tipton, who is hearing Texas' challenge to Biden's order suspending deportations, said that recent human smugglers caught in Texas were released. Human smuggling is a felony which would have gotten then immediately removed in the past.

The flood of criminal aliens together with the torrent of migrants is the biggest reason why the border wall needs to be completed. One Texas lawmaker is pushing a bill that would enable the Lone Star State to go it alone and complete the wall. However, given that what comes to Texas doesn't stay in Texas, all the states have an obligation to help Texas fund the wall. After all, do we really need the world's sex offenders to come here, besides our own?

Democrats see a steady stream of illegal aliens as a steady supply of future democrat voters. And since they care about noting other than winning elections, they will go to the mat to defend illegal immigration.

That helicopter should be a gunship.

That would make a difference.
