LQ is good. No doubt. He is in the conversation when you are listing our best defenders.

Geron Johnson. Lester reminds me of Geron in his defense and in his rebounding.

Completely agree on Geron, but he doesn't remind me of LQ at all in terms of style. Michael Dixon was also a great defender before he got here. I think the new rules, plus Pastner having players guard 40FT from the basket, hurt both him and Geron.

I absolutely love his game. Dude is really intense. Never takes a play off.

LQ will stick his nose in the middle of a big man scrum anytime and get the damn rebound. Just a great rebounding guard. And he'll tie up Tarzan. He also gets a lot of offensive rebounds, especially on missed free throws ... and we miss a lot !!! You throw in his defense ... he's just a good, hard nosed player !!!
By the way, Jeremiah Martin was ... and still is ... a great defender !!

I like this list. I also thought Bobby Parks was a pretty good defender.

LQ is unquestionably the best all-around defender on the team. He is matched against bigger guys, quicker guys, inside & outside & he is effective on all - great versatility & very good rebounder for his size. AA has commented the same on LQ as a defender. There's a lot more to being an effective defender than statistics show. Where are the stats that show ball denial & LQ is very effective in that area.
