I like our bracket. Most likely path to the title game is North Texas and Louisiana Tech. Not easy but certainly doable.

Apparently the answer is yes. The nets getting cut.
I turned in last night thinking that WKU’s t-shirt/trophy display was mockingly dumb. I woke up this morning thinking differently.
Anderson and Hollingsworth, and to a lesser extent Williams and Cooper, have been the core of some dominant teams over the past 4-5 years. They absolutely deserved a raucous, memorable send off on senior night, yet were deprived of that.
Perhaps they’ll return next year, in which case I again will look forward to hating on Anderson and fearing Hollingsworth. But an over-the-top celebration of what may turn out to be their last home game does not seem out of line this morning.

I’m not loving a 9:00 p.m. start time. But that’s just grumbling from an old man.

Yikes. Texas time for sure.
Still like the matchups.

I’m all for a senior night celebration, but what if they had lost? And shouldn’t it be about the seniors? It seems their primary motivation to win last night was to not be embarrassed that they printed up t-shirts and made a trophy.

I’m not so sure we have the better bracket. The only good thing about NT is they apparently have regressed and are not playing their best ball down the stretch. They looked pretty good a few weeks ago. Then LT, not confident about that. If we had the other bracket it would be UTSA and then UAB or maybe Marshall. IDK, I think I would be equally nervous about either bracket.

The quarterfinals are on Stadium. Not exactly a step up from ESPN+ but maybe WTVZ will show the game.

I may be wrong, but IIRC, Bassey has not come close to AA honors any time we've played him.

Didn't he have like 25 points and 13 rebounds the game before against us? Who does he think he is, Odell Hodge!

Yes but depends on the tv. I have a older LG and the apps are not well developed so the Facebook watch app kept crashing. So I simply pull the game up on my phone and cast to my tv and set my phone on the table. Works like a champ.
I tried the Facebook Watch app on my LG TV and it was a load of crap. It didn't crash but had unwatchable low resolution. I went back to mirroring the iPad on Roku. I got a Chromecast with Google TV but haven't set it up yet. I'm gonna try that next time.
I use Chromecast with Google TV as my daily driver and other than its terrible unwieldy name, it is great. The Facebook stream was good as well. Get that thing hooked up, you'll love it.

Exactly

That was terrible. I said something to my wife when it was live and then they showed the replay. Horrible call and gave them three points. Refs should have to see that as part of their training. I thought it happened with one of their other players in first half, but they never showed that replay.
That crap is scourge on basketball and I can't understand how it has been an issue for so long. It is not a subtle thing. When an offensive jump shooter jumps into a defender, kicks their leg out, or generally flails it should be an offensive foul or no call 100% of the time. They need to tell these kids up front, if you do not go up with your natural shooting motion, you are not getting a call. Period.

Agree. I would rather face Marshall than those two as well.
If this team can shoot well for an entire tournament, then I think we can win it. Shooting has improved dramatically over the course of the season, but that is still a big if. Thus far, we have seemed to shoot well in 1 of 2 games each weekend. If we don't shoot well, we likely do not beat WKU, LT, NT, Marshall. If we shoot well, we can beat any of them.

Reading the main board LaTech starting pg out of tournament with hand injury and NT fans not expecting a show in the finals due to no depth. Should be interesting.

Their fans haven't accepted that 6 or 7 guys is all the depth they need to be successful?

I didn't realize that, but I think they will be fine without him. If I had to guess, I would say LT wins. They are the best defensive team in the conference and actually have a decent offense. They played WKY really well on the road.
I didn't realize North Texas lost 2 to UAB at home. Thats not a good finish.
Im not really concernd with Marshall....they can obviously get hot but I just dont think they are that good.
UAB is probably a step below LT for me.
WKY is solid, nothing special.
This is robably the most wide open CUSA tourny I can remember. I could easily see any of the top 4 wins. And wouldn't terribly be surprised with Marshall/NT either.
I think the top 2 seeds really have it set up nicely for them. They should have a realitvely easy game heading into the semi-finals while UAB and ODU may have tough games vs. Marshall/NT.
It wont come down to depth or anything silly like that. Who will make shots down the stretch?

It ALREADY HAS come down to depth. LA Tech is now going to have to start a backup point guard in the tournament!!! Hopefully (for them) they have enough depth to adequately cover that. Additionally, what do you call it when a team has an in game injury - like Reese and Curry had recently for ODU - or foul trouble? You either have decent depth to cover it or you are merely putting in a body to replace them. Might ODU have won the 2nd game against WKU if Reese (sprained ankle) had played instead of having Pilavious playing significant minutes? There is NOTHING silly about having depth or playing more than 6 - 7 players in a game, especially in a multi game, back to back to back to back tournament.
