Should Dexter Dennis be Defensive Player of the Year
Props to Wichita State beat writer for putting this together. As Memphis fan, I think it should be Lester personally but he makes nice points on Lester, Alex, and especially Moussa. His case for Dexter is compelling.

Taylor is the best beat writer in the American and I love his use of gifs in his stories. How many beat writers cover the Tigers?

Wichita State's defensive efficiency rating is 112. Ours is 2. Lester would be like Dennis in the aspect that he doesn't get a lot of steals. He just doesn't let his man score. Williams is leading the team with 2.1 steals per game followed by Lomax (1.9), Nolley, Jeffries and Boogie all have more than 1 steal per game. Wichita State only has one player that averages more than one steal per game.

I was very impressed with Nolley's defense against Grimes Sunday. I think he played him more than anyone. I also think we learned that Jarreau (I feel like he needs an "x" at the end of his name) may require more defensive effort than Grimes.

Great point. I might tweet this to Taylor and see what his response will be. I also will add how Lester played the SMU point guard who both Penny and Kelvin Sampson says was the best player in conference this year and shut him down

No.
Naming someone DPOY from a D ranked #111 (especially when you have two top 10 Ds in conference), is akin to naming an MVP from a team who finished near the bottom.
He is best on an average defensive team.
Pick the best defender from either Houston or Memphis.
