Mellis said in an email to IndyStar that she was asking that they race in the pool, but Dakich took it another direction. He responded with a tweet that has since been deleted, saying he would have to get divorced from his wife first.

"Through his use of the b-word and the way he sexualized my clear reference to racing in the pool, he debased and violated me according to my identity over the public airwaves for all to hear," Mellis wrote.

Although, I do agree that this suspension episode is classic cancel culture. I haven't seen anything sexist in the comments. "Go at it" in the water was a shot at her swimming background - nothing sexual or sexist.

The thought of even being in the same country club much less swimming pool with that horrid sounding blowhard azz is truly cringeworthy.


What I actually thought was bad was his constant harping on the Duke Professor's name along with his office hours. I mean what was Dakich driving at by doing that?

She was the one who brought up the pool first.
But he did mention getting divorced, which implies something different.
Still seems much ado about little. We need to learn to laugh instead of litigate, unless there are clear rights violations. Even laugh at bullies like Dakich.
