So we will play W&M or UNCW Sunday at 6PM. The winner of that game will play the winner of Drexel vs CC Monday at 9:30PM
The Drexel win Friday gave us a piece of the regular season title. The downside is it pushed Drexel into our half of the bracket. Would have been nice to have had all 3 other highly ranked teams in the NET and KenPom (JM-Hofstra-Drexel) on the other side but in March there are usually no easy paths. Will be interesting to see if JMU can recover from the loss of Lewis. I can't help but think that will ultimately kill them but who knows
Now comes the week we have to sweat out to see if all 10 teams make it to the weekend. I've come to dread seeing those blue CAA tweets with SCHEDULE UPDATE at the top

Yeah, I'm okay with our two seed....not having to play Hofstra or JMU right away is a good thing.

I for one, wouldn't worry about avoiding highly ranked (very loose term for the CAA) NET teams.
If NU plays well we can beat anyone, but every game will be a tough one at this point.

RE: Tourney
The Lewis injury is devastating for JMU. Feel so bad for them. They are still a decent team without him but probably not in the top tier even at home.
I think we have the best team in the tournament. There are lots of teams that will give us trouble though and because nobody has played a full season it's hard to evaluate, so I agree about not feeling worried about one side of the bracket or another.
Our conference has played among the fewest games in the nation, particularly because of the way we reschedule games and the incentives behind that. I'm really hoping for no COVID issues, and I think every team is being extremely cautious in the weeks preceding the tourney.

Walker definitely gives you a chance to cut down the nets. Best of luck. Hope we get a chance to play you guys Sunday. If so, should be a heck of a game

Best of luck to you guys too. I think Drexel is the dangerously under-seeded team in this tourney similar to Northeastern last year (both 6 seeds coincidentally)

We are, due to the schedule dealt, but being in the 6/3 game and avoiding the play-in round makes it not a huge deal. The only difference is the jersey color worn.
Drexel had 2 home games in CAA play. 0 pauses. But we managed to play CofC, JMU, Hofstra all on the road. W&M was the only non- top 4 team we played in conference. And we went 2-1 against them, with 2 blowouts. So in a way Drexel may be most prepared, including playing 2 games on separate occasions at JMU's new arena. Hopefully it works out that way. I have a hard time seeing us topple you guys though.

You guys did it all against JMU a few days ago.....three point shooting, offensive boards, free throws, defense and you kept your poise in crunch time. I'm picking you against CoC.

Any word on the COVID situation? How precautionary vs reactionary is it? Saw a tweet this morning by Jon Rothstein that showed NU as being still on pause due to COVID, the only team in the CAA in which that's the case.

Of course it's getting me a little worried, because again today it was posted that Northeastern is still the only men's basketball program on pause for COVID in the CAA. While it know it was probably timed for us to be ready for the CAA tournament, does it mean we are not allowed to practice? Anyone know any details?

It is my understanding that if you are on pause you can't practice as a team and I think you may be able to do some limited individual workouts.

STL.....nobody, except the teams, know for sure what their situation is....and they are not allowed to talk. It's like the Matt Lewis thing. Everyone was speculating about how healthy he would be at tourney time and then at the Drexel game there he was on crutches and out for the season. Que sera sera. .

Rothstein will also only list a team is on pause or off pause if they formally announce it so I wouldn't take that as gospel. For example, Virginia Tech isn't listed but they've missed the whole week
It is scary to see us on the list 60 hours from tip-off though

I'm literally sick to my stomach. I don't know if I could have scripted a worse last 6 weeks. Oh well....see if we can scrap back in this and stop turning it over

So disappointing. Down 3 at half, not going to win playing like this, let alone 3 in a row. Need Walker to take over.
Think Shaq might be COVID? Might explain the COVID protocol we were under and the fact that he's not even here tonight.

It has to be. Alex must be in the same situation as well. He hadn't been a key player this year until Towson when he was a real spark at times

Nice 2nd half. Congrats to the team and to Bill Coen for being our winningest coach in history!
