Anybody have a clue what is going on with our women?
Not just that they lost 60-32 today while shooting 24% from the field. But, I noticed that Coach Foley started 2 freshman (Trinitee Alexander and Paloma Iradier), yesterday and today, who had played less than 30 minutes of "garbage time" all season. Teal Battle and Ky'lie Scott, our 2 best remaining players, did not start although they did play. Angelique Francis, who has been playing a lot, also didn't start. Theoretically, we could have earned a bye this weekend with a win if ASU had beat UTA twice, so I doubt Foley was just "resting" players. It appears like he was discipling players, although he couldn't just hold them out entirely because he didn't have the numbers to do so. Not a good look heading to Pensacola.

Either disciplinary or he may have known that we weren't going to move up in the standings no matter the outcome. However, if it were disciplinary, he would usually make them sit for all or most of the game. I'm leaning more towards he's resting them but as usual we don't know anything.

Who knows with Joe. Maybe he is fine with playing a "warm-up" game against Coastal Carolina (0-13 in the league) to get his girls in the tournament mindset. I was going to say "to get them familiar with the court", but the opening round is being played at Pensacola Community College. I also wonder if he would really be worried about "resting" players, 6 days before they have to play again.

I read a recent article in the ADG. Foley wanted to give the benched players some playing time this weekend to see if he could include them in the rotation for the tournament. Foley doesn't like being in a 6 man rotation and I agree.
