2 of my kids went to ASU undergrad and my UNCW daughter went to Elon Law School. My family will watch it. That's 5 households if Nielson wants to know.

That would be fun

Now now gentlemen, that would make too much sense. So we all know the NCAA won't do it. lol

If they are both play-in seeds, it wouldn't surprise me at all. NCAA does like a good regional matchup to create interest. See UNCW vs. Duke/UVA/Maryland.

That probably isn't a bad thing this year. Outside of FSU, I think they all could lose in the first round.

Crazy isn't it. The only thing i can think of about all the powers being down is the lack of an offseason and so many newcomers

Watching the Drexel/Elon game and those are some good teams. Elon has some very physical, aggressive players who can really play. CAA looks to me like it is on the rise.

And, UNCW should have beaten them if not for a prayer

No one has said it, so I will. As a guy who stops by our board frequently, Dan, congrats on the title! Good luck in the tourney!

Thanks. Much appreciated. We will definitely need it. A couple more upsets may push us into slightly nicer territory as a 14 instead of the dreaded 15/2 matchup

Been saying it for years and getting shot down on here. Not to mention the travel just makes zero sense for UNCW. When VCU and the other guys left it was time to move right then but UNCW thought they were too for the SoCon -mistake. In a tough spot now and it is all on UNCW, the AD now and the ones previous to him.

I think it's on a lot more than our ADs. It's on the conference as a whole. The conference has had poor to downright awful leadership and none of the ADs in the conference seem to care. They took an up and coming dominant mid major conference and turned it into an absolute dumpster fire.

The CAA kind of fell into a great spot with ODU,VCU,GMU,Richmond,JMU and UNCW all being good about the same time. I don't think Yeager had anything to do with that. I have no real idea why JMU is still around but UNCW had opportunities to move on and didn't pursue it. The CAA leadership has always been terrible and is at an all time low now I think. It is a one bid low level mid major now and I don't see that changing.

If Hofstra had allowed divisons it would have been tolerable.

Now, either us and CoC need to go or Hofstra and Northeastern need to go

That goes to the pettiness of our league and why it has fallen. That is the issue. Until the ADs act like a group, they are a bunch on individuals and the parts are not greater than the sum. Hopefully they learn that real soon. At least Drexel has a chance to change with a new AD incoming for the first time in the CAA. Selfishness is why this season was a disaster, and will continue to be until all of the schools suck it up and act together. May not matter once JMU makes that FBS leap soon

RE: CAA Men's Tournament
The CAA benefitted from the the fact there was no other dominant basketball conference in Virginia. The CAA was the dominant conference. The CAA was to Virgimia what the ACC is to North Carolina. Good sized schools with great rivalries in the biggest cities.

Now the CAA has no central core. We're just a bunch of midmajor schools spread over a lot of miles with little connecting us.

The core of the CAA is Delaware, Towson, W&M, JMU, and Elon. Those 5 schools care very much about FCS football and their geographic footprint isn't that bad. Drexel, as Delaware's rival and next door neighbor also makes since.

The biggest problem is the CAA has 4 non football schools as extreme geographic outliers.

Until at least 2 of those 4 leave, the CAA will struggle

If Towson, Delaware, JMU, Elon and William and Mary are the "core", this isn't a very good conference. And if FCS football is the priority, it's a really bad conference since nobody cares.
