Peyton Scott
There has not been much to get excited about with Miami women's basketball this year as we are in last place 2-17 and 1-14 in the MAC. However, Sophomore guard Peyton Scott ( averaged 12 ppg last year and made the all freshman team) has been on a sensational run and deserves some publicity. There are some really great guards in the MAC, but Peyton has been putting up some amazing numbers even considering all the great guards in the league. She had a 37 point game 3 weeks ago but in the last 2 weeks she has been on the most impressive run any Miami male or female basketball player has ever had.

While Miami has 15 girls on scholarship, 10 is the most we have ever had for a game, today we had 8, and the three girls coming off the bench are probably #13,14, and 15 in ability. Anyway, the team has been playing much better but has not been able to finish. They tend to wear down. The last 4 games we beat WM by 9, then lost by 2 to Kent, 3 to Central Michigan, and 2 to Ball State. Scott has been driving the team to keep getting better.

In those 4 games Scott scored over 30 points all 4 times, scoring 37, 34, 31, and today 39, which tied the Millett Hall record ( Courtney Osborn). During those 4 games she has averaged 35.ppg and shot 60% from the floor, 83% from the line, and 42% from three. A point guard, she has also averaged 7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 3 steals.

No Miami player had ever had back to back 30 point games before. With game of 37,37, and 39 this year, she has 3 of the 10 highest games in school history, and she also had a game with 13 assists, which set the school record.

She is definitely the reason I keep watching every game.

I guess she is a female Bradley Beal (although Bradley isn't a PG).

Fans love to watch dominant players.

Toledo did a great job and shut Scott down, holding her to a season low 7 points, plus she fouled out and missed all but two minutes in the 4th quarter. However, two other Redhawks got a lot of easy points and had 25 and 21 and this time we just held on a won 62-60, after having a 23 point lead in the second quarter.

RE: Peyton Scott
Saturday last place Miami was hosting then #2 Kent. Kent was ahead by 3 when Peyton Scott hit a 5 foot jumper, got fouled and completed the three point play to tie the score with 50 seconds to go. After a stop, Miami had the ball out of bounds at side court with 3 seconds left. Kent put their best player, 6-2 Nia Blackford on Scott, and she tried to steal the in bounds pass near midcourt. Scott beat her to it, turned and quickly dribbled 3 times, did a jump stop, and nailed a three at the buzzer, then got mobbed by her team. That play and celebration ended up being #5 on ESPN's Play of the Day. In a low scoring game, Scott had 25 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals.

RE: Peyton Scott
Here's Scott's game winner on Saturday. Scott is really good.

Not smart defense by KSU. With three seconds to go, why try a steal at half court? (I'm a KSU fan.)
