I hate contemporary politics and politicians — and don’t tell me all this political crap hasn’t been a major distraction and contributor to this collapse.
I am totally amazed and shocked at the people I know(and the area in general) that really believe ETSU is the only school where athletes choose to silently protest for social justice. To me that is the most unbelievable part. When I tell people this they just look away and refuse to believe. Incredible.

Yes I support our players totally. They are wonderful people and deserve our support. I will be there supporting them no matter what. The coaching staff needs to change things to give the players a chance to win a championship. I am sure they are breaking down film right now looking for mistakes that must be corrected before Saturday. The talent is there and it is up to the coaches to get the motivation to start winning. Go Bucs!

RE: Official Game Thread: UNCG
I didn't think we played nearly as badly yesterday as the previous 3 or so games. Very good effort on D. Less 1-on-1 offensive action. But can't disagree that there was less fire at the end. Maybe more importantly......oftentimes it seemed (some) players were shooting with a bit less confidence.
As to "coaching".......one thing about 2+ weeks ago shocked me. After one loss (don't remember which one) shay said they were going to change the way they handle screens. "Instead of switching, we're going to fight thru screens; require more personal responsibility." (paraphrasing, but not much). So....what would Sun Tzu say about telling one's opponents the new plan??
The Art of War, Chapter 6 (Weak Points and Strong):
8. Hence that general is skillful in attack whose opponent does not know what to defend; and he is skillful in defense whose opponent does not know what to attack.
9. O divine art of subtlety and secrecy! Through you we learn to be invisible, through you inaudible.
In what basketball world does one tell opponents' coaches how they're going to defend screens? Those paying attention will note that that's exactly when we started getting beat backdoor so often. It's not *quite* that simply - but almost. The next two games especially, we got taken to the cleaners on that several times per game.

RE: Official Game Thread: UNCG
Coach on radio tonight was very up front and honest as he always is during his show. When asked about loose balls he admitted that was something we have not been doing lately. I watched the UNCG game and afterwards I thought that if we had been aggressive about going after the 50/50 balls we could have won that game hands down. We shall see Saturday if the team gets it together to play up to their potential. I am always more hopeful after listening so let's go Bucs Saturday!
