Division Champions
If the MAC had divisions this year, we would have a 6 game advantage on the 2nd place team today.

Right now our old division has the first place team and the bottom 5 teams. Got to be the worst any division has finished in any year.

East is typically stronger in basketball, this year is no different.

We didnt and havent played an all West schedule though so i feel strong about our record. Ohio, UB, and NIU will be played once for us.

Hopefully divisions are gone for basketball. So much better like this.

+1 If covid has taught the MAC anything, it’s that it doesn’t need divisions in basketball...but we already knew that.

Another unusual tidbit. Bowling Green has the same number of home wins in the conference as Eastern Michigan with 2 wins. They are 8-1 on the road in the conference. Weird

Hard to play in that murky barn of theirs.

I would like to know the process that decided Sullivan Center was a better design starting place than Anderson Arena for a smallish arena in a Mid-Major College? Great for high school viewing, ok for atmosphere, but not college. If not Anderson, they'd been better off if they'd gone "barn." At least you could still snuggle in the loft.

Any word on whether Edu or Hill will be able to play yet this season? Just getting a couple minutes from those two each half could keep the 7 regulars from getting too worn out. Also, Edu would sure help versus a strong rebounding team such as Buffalo.

I'd like to have him against Ball St. They smoked us on the boards. That was a bad 3pt game for us I wouldn't expect to repeat but that has nothing to do with their 40%. Being able to have both Edu and Komagum's long arms on the perimeter to cut passing lanes might help keep them from clean set-up out there.

Coach K mentioned on a recent coach’s show that Hill’s injury hasn’t healed as fast as they thought and would not be available this season. Edu’s injury was healing faster and was a possibility to play but they weren’t sure if he would play. If he’s not practicing now I wouldn’t think he would play this year.

if someone has a contact to the beat writer or anyone who attends TK's virtual presser or Monday night show they might want to raise the question. TK is a lot more open than Amstutz when it comes to injury issues. Edu and Hill are moving around normally and on the court rebounding and passing to teammates in pregame shooting drills but neither is dressed (at least for basketball) and I haven't heard about either practicing. With as well as Saunders is playing lately our gaurd rotation doesn't need Hill. Rollins can handle the point in spurts and if Saunders is aggressive we don't fall apart offensively like we did earlier in the year when marreon sat down. komungum had a good run vs western but he struggles against better teams. i wouldn't be shocked to see the staff practice that 1-2-2 zone a bit more and maybe throw that in mid-game situation for a few minutes. putting komungum up top, 2 guards on the wings and a combo of shumate/milner/acunzo on the bottom is a tough look to figure out immediately and gives us rebounding galore. we've only seen TK use it in blowouts but it might show up more down the stretch. obviously, having edu back, even if he's rusty would help rebounding and interior defense-although I wouldn't mess much with our offensive grouping now as we are clicking at that end. imagine AJ would need at least a week of practice once he's cleared before they put him on the court.
