RE: When will the conference football schedule be released?
This App schedule is no better or no worst than the last couple of years. I might go ahead and retire near the end of August to make things simple.....

Thursday, October 21: Louisiana @ Arkansas State
Thursday, October 28: Troy @ Coastal Carolina
Thursday, November 4: Georgia State @ Louisiana
I heard a rumor today that Marshall and App State will be on Thursday night ESPN.
Just dandy for me. I'll edit my predictions:
vs ECU on some ESPN channel
@ Miami on probably the ACCN
vs Marshall on ESPN
@ Lousiana on ESPN2
vs CCU on ESPNU
vs GS on some ESPN channel (ESPNU has played a SBC game on the Friday after Thanksgiving the last few years. Wonder if they'll make this an ESPNU game)
The most likely option for it to be put on TV is to be moved to Friday.

It could be. Half of YosefsCabin would burn down KBS in response though.

It's not a surprise to play midweek games, but it makes it very hard to drive attendance and ticket sales when you get multiple home games during the week. We would have had a near sellout with good weather, but now we'll have possibly 10,000 less. The atmosphere won't be as good either. My wife and kids sure won't be able to come now so that's 3 of our 5 out for two games. We'll still have season tickets but they'll be empty as there won't be much demand for resale.
Im all for being on TV, but don't write-off the negative impacts.

RE: When will the conference football schedule be released?
As a G5 member we have four options:
A. Win championships, beat P5s, play 3-4 mid-week TV games
B. Win 8-10 games, an occasional championship, play 2 mid-week conference games
C. Win 6-8 games a year, get 1 mid-week conference games
D. Win less than 7 games consistently and get 0-1 TV games that aren't vs P5s
App is currently in the A column and I'm ok with that.

It's certainly better than being irrelevant, but that doesn't mean its ideal. Hopefully the league can continue to improve to the point where we don't get relegated to weeknights as much.

Troy has Georgia Southern, App State, South, and Louisiana at home this year. Hopefully that helps us get some wins against you guys, which South and Troy can only usually win the away game in that series. We also get Liberty at home.
Really hope fans are allowed back in full or near full capacity.

My wife and I aren't able to make weeknight games either unless it's after the high school football season. I too prefer Saturday home games. 1 weeknight game I can deal with, 2 weeknight games kill me.
But it's for purely the selfish reason that I want to watch my Apps play in person.
I'm still pissed about moving the ECU game to Thursday ... What a missed opportunity on an awesome tailgating scene in Charlotte and for the bars/restaurants in the area.

This. I don't think folks understand the true impact of what empty seats have meant to schools. There's been a number of schools reporting losses in the $15,000,000 range already due to low/no capacity. If this happens twice in a row, you're looking at schools not having money to fund football programs, which will have a cascading affect.

Which game are you talking about specifically? I'll take them.

I don't mind midweek games, but there were a few years there where we had multiple midweek home games that really hurt our momentum on ticket sales because people couldn't make the games.
It does make a difference. At most 1 home midweek is all anyone in this conference should be asked to do. Away midweeks are fine.
The problem with 'away midweeks are fine' is that someone has to be the home team.
