RE: McFerrin retires
Just as the Internet has proliferated porn, so has the Internet proliferated the news we can access.

The internet tracks us and gives us exactly what we want--over and over and over.

WE tell it what we want...So the buck starts and stops with us.

“The internet tracks us” - true

“The internet gives us exactly what we want” - false

“WE tell it what we want...” - not really. Having a fleeting curiosity about something in no way means I want to be bombarded with advertisements.

“the buck starts and stops with us.” - I think we’re still learning just how far they’ll go in order to track every single detail of what was once considered our private lives (including what they’re doing with this info). The public library never did that. No one ever did that, not even the double naught spies. It’s a somewhat new development for many.

There was a time in our lifetimes we were easily manipulated with TV content.

Then we got accustomed to it and the effectiveness decreased.

We are going through the same cycle now. The tactics being used today won't work five years from now. People learn.

I thought this thread was about the women’s basketball coach.

Another thread hijacked by BS that is unrelated.

Don’t most threads eventually run their course and evolve into unrelated BS? That’s been my experience. If there’s anything left to say about McFerrin, the floor is yours.

RE: McFerrin retires
When the internet was just getting its feet wet back in the 90s, I registered many places — sometimes as a boy sometimes as a girl . My occupations were also varied and whimsical — everything from a reverend to a city worker. Then I watched to see who sold my info ... and what I got fed when I googled stuff .

It was just an experiment... but interesting. Every once in awhile I get something addressed to reverend snowtiger. lol

It’s funny that people fear an invasion of nanobots— especially since they carry a phone everywhere they go.

I know a few dudes who have modified the first handhelds lol.

AAU programs not as strong, as the money is not there.
But I think there is quite a bit of talent. They just always leave town for SEC.

Why? Aside from UT, what allure do schools with very little Men's basketball history have that Memphis does not? Why go to South Carolina or Mississippi State? They have little traditional basketball history (Maybe USC back in its ACC and Al McGuire days).

UConn ladies. Wasn't there a rumor that's part of the reason UConn left AAC?

This year they rank #1 btw.

They paid 17 million to leave the AAC. Did we get any of that..lol?

Girls not meeting dress code, and them changing in his office with Freeze present.

Now.... Do we blame the porn industry for stuff like this? I mean, that is loosely the premise of half the "scripts" of those things, from what I am given to understand.

There is something wrong with you. Don't you have kids?

Three of them. 2 of them, girls. Dude, I'm being serious. The porn industry has ruined countless marriages, and who knows how many father/daughter relationships. I seriously wonder if some situation like Hugh Freeze is a direct result of the proliferation of on-line porn. And my last sentence is a recognition that a lot of men think the "Mr. Mckluski, I need a passing grade" type script is funny and cute until we see something like that happen in real life.

Why don't you just blame technology that made it easier and more private to access the junk.

Men taking advantage of and objectifying women goes back to early biblical records. Porn doesn't ruin marriages it's just a platform for men and a growing number of women to engage in harmful voyeurism. It isn't victimless and it impacts many consumers in very negative ways. Participation is a choice, it is addictive,
