RE: Belt basketball heading into the last week (2/22-2/28)
ULM beat UALR today so the Trojans are now 6-9 in league play and ULM is now 4-11.

Otherwise everything else is up to date. The scenarios for that 2nd bye in the Western Division are interesting. Arkansas State will play fewer games than both UTA and UL this year, so tiebreaks don't exist and percentage points will decide any "ties"

Texas State is now much harder to catch in the West. Even if they lose in Jonesboro on Monday, they'd still have to lose at least once to ULM to drop out of first, potentially twice.

The East scenario is very complicated. Georgia State is technically the 2 seed right now, by virtue of win percentage over Coastal Carolina, however they could also simply win the East, since they finish the year playing South Alabama. They could also in theory get assigned a 6 seed automatically by the conference if more games are postponed. I'll try to do a seeding scenarios for the West after Monday's games, and a similar one for the East after Tuesday's game.

If all games are played the rest of the season, Little Rock and ULM will be the only conference schools to get 18 games in (and will likely finish in the bottom two spots in their division)

these would be the total games played by league

18: Little Rock, UL Monroe
17: South Alabama, Louisiana, Texas Arlington
16: Georgia Southern, Troy
15: Appalachian State, Texas State, Arkansas State
14: Coastal Carolina
13: Georgia State

Texas State uses an 8-0 run late in the game to come back and beat AState 57-52. We went 0fer from 3 for the night, which pretty much did us in

Bobcats have clinched the SBC West Title and will be the 1 seed. Cajuns beat UTA Today to take a 1 game lead on AState for the 2nd seed heading into next weekend.

ULM beat Little Rock again as well.

First time men's basketball has won conference (even if it's co-champs this year) since I've followed Bobcat sports in 2003. Pretty amazing after the awful games I used to attend as a student.

Those Davalos years made it hard to watch.

To think we've clinched the west division Champs is amazing.

Yes. 100% of our conference losses are to Louisiana.

Our beat writer is now saying the conference IS crowning a conference-wide champion as opposed to division winners being co-champs. Anyone able to confirm that?

RE: Belt basketball heading into the last week (2/22-2/28)
West is actually Easy to figure out

1 seed: Texas State
2 Seed: UL with either two wins vs LR or 1 win and an AState loss to UTA: AState with two wins and a UL loss or one win and two UL Losses
3 seed: AState with a split vs UTA this weekend. UTA if they sweep this weekend UL if they don't get the two seed
4 seed: Series loser between AState/UTA
5 seed. LR with a win over UL or a ULM loss to Texas State. ULM with two wins and two LR losses
6 seed: Whoever doesn't get the 5 between LR and ULM

Texas State beats ULM for the regular season SBC championship.

Not sure how fair this one is, but we'll take it!
