As far as getting a bye goes you actually need some help in the form of WKU sweeping ODU. So you don't control your fate in that regard.

muturn017 - about 1 min after I hit send I realized my error. You are correct, of course. Considering the Tops have lost a total of 1 conference game at home to date, I would not bet against them sweeping. Having said that (as we learned in our 1st game vs ODU Feb 5th: Don't count your chickens.....Double byes! Sounds even better....

A tall task to take a game at Diddle.

No. We need ODU to lose 2x. If ODU beats WKU 2x we lose tiebreakers to WKU and ODU. Even if ODU beats Western once, we lose...

You're giving Western a couple extra losses there. The conclusion doesn't change but if they win today they'll go into next weekend at 10-2. So assuming Marshall sweeps:

If ODU beats WKU 2x it would be

ODU 12-4
WKU 10-4
Marshall 9-5

If ODU and Western split it would be

WKU 11-3
ODU 11-5
Marshall 9-5

UNT is 9-3 (0.75), UAB is 11-5 (0.69). So a split is all UNT needs. UAB prettymuch said bye to a conference tourney bye when they got crushed by UTSA on Saturday.

No to divisions, IDC about all 14 and double bye. This year it's looking like the top four would be two from the west and two from the east more than likely regardless. But if 3 of the 4 teams are from one side or the other it's not fair to split them and give worse team a bye.

Do you know for certain the first round games on Tuesday are 6 vs 7 in the same division? I'd rather go against FIU than USM (and I think it's more fair to set it up that way).

Makes sense. Those are kind of like play in games for the bottom 2 of each division. That ensures the western 3 seed plays an eastern tema in their first game and vice versa.

I think WKU is the clear front runner with NT/LT on their trail. I’m unsure who the better team is between those 2. Marshall or ODU can most definitely knock anyone off but I don’t think they can win it all.

Yeah I don’t think so, Tech beat WKU by 5 and lost to WKU by 2 in Bowling Green. Plus Tech is ranked higher in RPI and NET than WKU.

Watch out for FAU. They have only played ten conference games and if they sweep MT will come in on a four game win streak. They could upset someone in the conf. tourney.

FAU plays very physical. They have a good blend of size and athleticism. Like so many teams in CUSA, if the 3 ball is falling, they can probably beat any other team in CUSA.

Over the last two season, LA Tech is the only program in C-USA that has beaten North Texas in Denton. Not saying UAB can't pick up a win this weekend, but pulling a sweep in Denton is probably a long shot.
