RE: EMU thread
Not surprisingly, interest on this board seems to be waning for the women's team. I wonder what attendance will be like next year. I thought Eastern looked bad today. You really can't fault the effort of our players. They still seem engaged despite the poor results. We just don't have the talent.

RE: EMU thread
There is a steady drumbeat about the exceedingly young team starting three sophomores and two freshmen. But BGSU is also very young. They start three freshmen, one sophomore and one junior. And they are the number 1 seed in the MAC as of now. And they beat us handily both times we played them. So it must be that their young players are better than ours. BGSU has demonstrated that youth is not an absolute barrier to success.

Am I the only one on this site to think it's time for a coaching change, or do we keep giving CC a pas, because she is a nice person? It-s nice for her to say the team doesn't quit and they play hard, but, the bottom line is WINS. We are short on big girls in the post who can score and play defense, we haven't had that type of person since Richardson graduated.

RE: EMU thread
Regarding the youth of the Rockets, UT is by far the youngest team in the MAC this year. Not saying that's an excuse, just offering some data. Assuming I calculated this right, the table below has 2 columns. The 1st is class-weighted minutes played (1=FR, 4=SR) where UT comes in youngest by a decent amount. BG and KSU are pretty young too. Note you can weight by points or other stats and the numbers don't change much.
The 2nd column is percent of total minutes played by upperclasswomen. There you can see where UT comes in as really, really young. Although BG plays a lot of freshman too, they still get more than 1/3 of their minutes from JRs and SRs. UT gets less than 10%.
EMU 3.2 85%
CMU 3.0 64%
OU 2.9 73%
NIU 2.8 63%
MIA 2.7 47%
BSU 2.6 50%
BUF 2.5 46%
AKR 2.4 48%
KSU 2.3 45%
BG 2.2 38%
WMU 2.1 37%
UT 1.8 9%
Anyway, just something I thought was interesting. I know, I really need to get other hobbies.

Kaayla McIntyre could score and play defense. Am I really the only one who thinks this? As far as Cullop, no you are not the only one. That subject has been discussed at length over the last couple of years, and a number of people have called for her to be fired.

Thanks for putting in the time. Those are interesting numbers. The problem is that several of our freshmen and sophomores really should not be getting the minutes that they are getting, but we have no one else to play! The question is whether these young players will improve enough so that we can be a top-notch team.
