Extinction of the human race?
https://nypost.com/2021/02/20/why-more-m...ign=829036

Maybe the Republicans should push more environmentalism. Seems these contaminants in the environment are what is creating all these soy boy Democrats!

"Sperm counts in Western countries have dropped by more than 50 percent since the 1970s. At the same time, men’s problems with conceiving are going up: Erectile dysfunction is increasing and testosterone levels are declining by 1 percent each year.

“The current state of reproductive affairs can’t continue much longer without threatening human survival,” warns Mount Sinai fertility scientist Dr. Shanna Swan in her book, “Count Down” (Scribner), out Tuesday. “It’s a global existential crisis....”

Worldwide fertility has dropped by 50 percent between 1960 and 2015. The United States has a total birth rate that is 16 percent below what it needs to replace itself. Though there are obvious factors at play (couples are conceiving later and opting to have smaller families), Swan argues that the issues run deeper than personal choice.

Rates of miscarriages are on the rise and girls are experiencing earlier and earlier puberties (in some cases before the age of 8). “In some parts of the world, the average twenty-something woman today is less fertile than her grandmother was at 35,” Swan writes....

Normal sperm count ranges from 15 million sperm per milliliter to 200 million per milliliter. Though the World Health Organization deems a rate below 15 million as “low,” Swan argues that anything below 40 million creates challenges for reproduction. Today the average male is nearing that number at 47.1 million sperm per milliliter. Compare him to his father, who had an average of 99 million sperm per milliliter, and it’s clear that this is a deeply worrying trend.

Not only do men today have less sperm than their fathers, but they also have lower testosterone levels. A 2006 study showed that a 65-year-old man in 2002 would have testosterone levels that are 15 percent lower than a 65-year-old man in 1987. A similar drop has been noted in young adults and adolescents, according to a 2020 Urology Times Journal article...."

RE: Extinction of the human race?
One of the great things about knowing Jesus Christ is the comfort that God is in total control of everything. The human race is not going extinct, nor are we going to destroy ourselves through war and the environment.

Terrible tribulation is ahead, but it ends with Christs return, Him reigning over the entire earth a the righteous King, a full 1000 years of Him sitting on Davids Throne in Israel with world peace, followed by a new heaven and new earth that will remain for all eternity.

It's not complicated, look what we put in our bodies today under the guise of "food"

RE: Extinction of the human race?
I'm of the opinion that its God's grace that we see a steep decline in birth rates in the years leading up to the great tribulation. Jesus said specifically "woe to those who nurse" in those days.

There is no specific verse we can point to that suggests He will cause a steep decline in birth rates in the final years, but it does fit His grace and character throughout scripture. And we are seeing it happen right before our eyes as all the other signs of the times converge.

Eric maybe, but it also could be that God has just turned us over to our desires.

Actually He has and that is nearly a direct quote from the book of Romans (chapter 1). When a nation like America turns its back on Him, He slowly pulls back His hedge of spiritual protection, and the further a society pulls away from Him He eventually totally gives them over to a depraved mind and heart.

Its exactly what we have seen here in America, as we have become more secular and walked away from Him, our society has gone completely insane.

But as God says about Himself throughout the Bible, He tells us the end from the beginning. We know how this ends, and why. And we know what follows.

We don't know the exact day, but we do know the general "season" and time frame. The whole Bible points to a 6000 year period, then a 7 year tribulation ending with the 2nd coming. Jesus came about the 4000 year mark after Adam, and the church age appears to be about a 2000 year period.

Even many of the early church fathers wrote and predicted the church age would last about 2000 years, ending with the great tribulation and 2nd coming.

I guess countries like Sweden and Finland must be as crazy, insane, and depraved as they are because of how secular they are.

People are fleeing them like crazy because of it.

I do think some cosmic occurrence or some pandemic could wipe us out. It will have to be something catastrophic in nature to take us out. We have enough technology and science to handle most threats and continue our species without a cataclysm.

IN the world's oceans there are 3 large piles of plastic floating where currents converge. The size of these piles are massive, the size of large states. As the plastic sublimates the pcp's and other chemicals mentioned in the article sink. They hare having the same reproductive impact on the bottom of the oceans food chain and he negative impact of them are found in breeding stocks of ocean fish and in some ocean mammals nearer the top of the food chain.

Our garbage, much of which comes from China and other Asians countries, and which is routinely dumped from ocean going vessels, is not only impacting us as we eat and drink from such containers but impacting the source that provides nearly 70% of the worlds protein sources. Our lakes and rivers are contaminated with the garbage dumped by lazy boaters and runoff from pesticides and herbicides, and again sublimating plastics from landfills which get in groundwater.

Your local water treatment plant can't filter out all of the contaminants so even tap water contains them, as well as rising levels of some poisons such as antibiotics which collect in wastewater and cannot be filtered.

The result encompasses the following: Loss of testosterone, resistance to antibiotics, the destruction by herbicides of aquatic plant life that hides the eggs and fry that spawn. Without that aquatic plant life reproduction of fresh water species of fish plummet. Lake Martin here in Alabama has seen such a decline.

So the problem is extensive, but a large part of it could easily be eliminated by simply going back to bottles and cans both of which are easily recyclable. What's more is much of the plastic we recycle isn't recycled. It is shipped to Asia to get it out of our landfills, only it winds back up in the oceans.

Now people can talk green house gasses all they want and I'll laugh at much of it. But this is in my opinion not only a legitimate threat, but a damned serious one. We keep the plastics industry up because so many are invested in it. We refuse to address the issue because it would cause a collapse in those stocks. Glass isn't cheaper, but it is safer and healthier in all regards. But try selling that extra cost to Pepsi and Coke!

By the way cancers are also resulting from these chemicals. If we want to live and reproduce we'll get rid of all plastic food containers and limit its use and manage its recycling responsibly.

RE: Extinction of the human race?
Here is a recent teaching on why so many scholars and teachers have believed the Bible points to a 7000 year plan of God from the beginning. Peter stresses the point that 1000 years is but 1 day in God's eyes (much in the way our perception of time gets faster and faster the older we get). God says over and over again in scripture that He makes the end known from the beginning, and the first thing He lays out in the beginning is creation week. 6 days of work and 1 day of rest. In the same way there are 6000 years of mans rebellion and the spiritual war in the heavens and then 1000 years of rest following the 2nd coming.

As laid out in the vid, the details of creation week line up exactly with how history played out. For example the earth and seas were divided on the 2nd day, Genesis recorded the earth and seas were divided up in the 2nd millennium following the flood. God created seed which sprouted on the 3rd day, both the OT and NT teach Abraham was the called, chosen "seed" in the 3rd millennium and we are his seed today. God created the sun and moon on the 4th day to shine light on the earth which was in total darkness. The NT stresses that Jesus is the LIGHT that has come into the earth which was in total darkness, and He came in the 4th Millennium. The more you study the concept, the more scripture just screams these types, shadows and patterns out from one end of the Bible to the other.

This is why so many modern scholars and early church fathers believed Christ is set to return about the 6000 year mark since Adam, which is right about now, this generation. We can't know the exact day or year, but if you do the math in scripture this is the generation.

Its also important to remember that Jesus sternly rebuked the religious leaders of His day for not knowing the time and season of His first coming. And He warned us to pay attention to the times and seasons, that we should know when His return is near.

“When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; 3 and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.
Matt 16:2-3

“Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it is. And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is. Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?

At His sermon about the signs of His coming Jesus said this:

“Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors!

Men who lose testosterone tend to gain weight. And high fructose corn syrup doesn't register too much sugar intake in the brain the way cane sugar does. So that high fructose corn syrup soda in plastic bottles and presto you get fat dweebs likely to become diabetic and have problems reproducing.

Darwin would be proud!
