FAU (14) vs/at FGCU (8)...Fri and Sun at FAU, Saturday at FGCU
ODU (67) host Northeastern (197)
Charlotte (71) host WCU (82)
La Tech (104) host McNeese St (122)
MTSU (108) at South Alabama (160)
USM (141) at Jacksonville St (131)
WKU (143) at Tulane (50)
FIU (148) host Indiana St (7)
Rice (209) vs Sam Houston St (239), Texas A&M CC (174), & Texas St (199)
UAB (210) host Kennesaw St (166)
UTSA (227) host UTA (42)
Marshall (242) vs/at Morehead St (102)...Fri/Sun at Marshall, Sat DH at Morehead St ..Marshall's first games of 2021
Where are you finding these rankings?
I'm trying to figure out why UTSA is at 227 when we're 2-1 so far and those games were on the road against Sam Houston State who haven't had a losing season since 2010. They've gone 350-212 (.622) since 2011 and have been to 6 NCAA tournament regionals in the last 9 complete seasons.
Granted SHSU is 1-4 to start this season, but we shouldn't be that far back after taking 2 of 3 against them on the road, with the only loss being a 4-2 squeaker while the wins were 10-4 and 18-5. SHSU's other two losses were 4-0 to Baylor and 5-4 to Texas State.
Guess we'll see how things pan out this weekend.
It's RPI. It's pretty much useless early on and will display wild results and huge swings until there's enough games played for the algorithm to level out.
EXACTLY.....does anyone really think that Indiana St (3-4) is the 7th best RPI in the country???? It usually takes around the halfway point (games #25-30) out of a 55 game season for the RPIs to settle into some normalcy.

The curse of being ranked. Tech does this a lot.

That and FGCU is, actually, a pretty good club.

RE: 2021 baseball season
FAU and FGCU had been rained out in Ft Myers. The game is rescheduled for Tuesday. Since rains hit Boca Raton as well, I hope tomorrow's game between these two teams there is still a go.

ODU beat Northeastern 3-2 in 11 innings. Took the weekend series 2 games to 1.
A midweek game at W&M then host Ball State next weekend.

RE: 2021 baseball season
UTSA ended up taking 3 of 4 from UT-Arlington this weekend. We're now 5-2 on the season.
Game 1: 13-1 win
Game 2: 3-0 win
Game 3: 2-1 loss
Game 4: 16-1 win
Brutal set of 5 games coming up. We face TCU on Wednesday, followed on the weekend by games against LSU, then Baylor, then LSU again. Then we play Baylor again the following Tuesday.

USM wins 2 outta 3 on the road against Jacksonville St.....8 out of USM's 9 batters were Frosh or Sophomores...which bodes well for the future (but maybe not this year)
