Thanks for posting Millner’s dunk. That got to be the most impressive dunk I have ever seen by a Toledo player, maybe any player. The only one comparable was Stempin’s dunk back in the day.

Top 4 off top of my head:

Weather spoon on the OOB lob from Juice.
Stempin against OSU
Millner last night. annnnnnnnnd, the totally unexpected:
Ian Salter against EMU-he blew by their top guy on a corner drive and hammered it over two players.

But I’m sure Weatherspoon, Kent, Ames and Sutter had some others that were monsters. Weatherspoon had so many highlight reel dunks it was ridiculous.

Also, RE: salter, I have tried to wash the cross years from my memory. I’ve asked before, but has anyone come across the closet full of free frosty cards for when Toledo scores more than 60 points from those seasons? Weren’t many free frosties given back then.

Ty Kent had a dunk with 0.1 left that won a game at home against Kent in 2008 or so. Can’t find video anywhere but it was electric. Did come across this one:

https://youtu.be/crhz-Z04AeI

Found it. Dunk nothing special but timing is incredible and that was a hell of a physical game.

Not to be "that old guy" but that game was how a UT road game was played back in the day. Intense, focused, "we're here to win and get the heck on the bus and go home".

For me it was the grit and confidence when we needed it. Also, we had more than 2 bigs see action and that was much needed rest. Schumate had a great night with timely blocks. He and Milner are starting to confidently up the inside play.

Lets all hope and pray that TK can keep this them focused down the stretch. Knowing that we are playing the weaker MAC teams worries me a wee bit!
But that was a GREAT win for the Rockets! As you all have said...ON NATIONAL TV...Come on Rockets!!

And it remains the only positive from those years. The amazing thing was how often we went home frostieless.

Here's the JD Weatherspoon dunk off an inbounds pass from Juice against Akron:

That was incredible because the timing on the lob was great and W cradled it in the air in one motion and slammed it home.

Sutters and Weatherspoon have to be the best dunkers all-time at UT.

RE: Toledo vs. Buffalo (ESPN2)
barry sonnenburg had a great reverse dunk back in the day. i still remember craig thames having a 3 dunk game at 5-10 against wmu with each dunk different (2 handed off a backcut, mini-tomahawk on a break, and a reverse). sutters first rockets game included a couple monster dunks. willie jackson had a ridiculously hard tip dunk his junior year. drummond's double pump hammer and a foul in a close home game vs kent was memorable. rick rightenower had one of the best-if weakest- dunks in memory during an upset win in the old blade classic tournament when we had a lousy team. he barely dunked it but it was at a key moment and totally unexpected and made the place go nuts, especially since he acted like he's just thrown it down like milner.

Those first-game dunks you mentioned were, I’m pretty sure, against Kent St. Coach McDonald, who was a great defensive coach, tried to front Sutters and we simply lobbed it in to him for dunks. When we played them the second time at Kent, they played behind him, let him have the ball and he was useless. Of course, he was playing for Eck, sot it’s not as if we were going to make any sensible adjustments.

What a pleasure to watch this game and watching the replay. As far as the refs were concern, didn't see that many ticky tack foul calling. I thought I was watching big 10 basketball, the way the refs let the players play physically. UB is such an athletically built team. Just goes to show you, heart won out over the better athletic team in Buffalo.

What a pleasure to listen to top notch announcers tonight, especially Dakich.

I agree Springboro.... Dakich was very good and he showed UT and Toledo a lot of love. He got some local facts wrong but who cares.

He was very complimentary to refs and it was well deserved.

Dali has has taken some heat on social media over his recent Duke player departure comments. He’s old school and has his reasons as an ex HC

Go Rockets

I didn't mind Datkich as a coach in the MAC. He helped to add to our rivalry. His antics didn't bother me. I really like him as an announcer. I like his style/delivery.

I like the usual announcers, wouldn't swap them. But this crew does have more comedy-entertainment factor and they took good advantage of them actually being at home calling the game. Enjoyed when Dakich brought out his wife's UT trophy. Wouldn't want it every game but was fun for this one.

I used to drive home from work in Toledo and listen to some show that would interview Dakich on a regular basis. Can't remember what it was, long time ago, probably when he was at BG. He was a hoot IMO. But I liked to listen to him, and I still do.

He's a hoot on twitter too
