F that!! I have no knowledge of HCAK’s thinking, but we shouldn’t an offhand replacement to a tournament full of P5 crumbs, IMHO. We didn’t earn the Dance, I have no delusion about that, but if we’re not deemed “worthy” of the NIT then we shouldn’t be waiting hat in hand.
First this is an odd year and your arrogance smacks of Bammerism. If the NIT had maintained it's normal sized bracket we would have been comfortably in. Second UAB is in no position to look down it's nose at any situation at this point.
Also, please start checking facts before spouting off. I don't how a bracket where only 3 of 16 participants are members of a so-called P5 conference (which is a football term btw) can be considered to be "full of P5 crumbs"

RE: 2021 NIT format changes, post-season shenanigans?
NIT is a worthy tournament for a first time postseason appearance for a new staff. Maybe not acceptable 5-6 years down the road. We had that thought for Davis and Haase.
I wouldn’t answer a phone call from CBI or CIT. Vegas could sell me on that trip if they put together a good field of 2nd or 3rd place teams in regular season standings and not a bunch of .500 teams from low majors.
