Is this not the same thing?

Dang! I wish that was an option here. I'd much rather sit in a class for a couple of hours than pay the fine.

Don't tell me they remove it from your record, too.

In Va., yup!

Still gotta pay the ticket, but go to dopey-driver class and they give you 3 "good" points. A regular speeding ticket is a 3 point knock on your record so it effectively takes that off.
Can only do it once every 2 years (I think) though.

Just dont go over 10 over in VA. It's considered reckless driving (what the fruck?).

Me and a co-worker were up there several years ago and were driving back to TN on the interstate. He was going 81 in a 70. We got pulled over by one of the most stunningly gorgeous women either of us had ever laid eyes on.

Neither of us could say a word when she explained all this because all we were doing was just watching her talk. She had him sign for the ticket and we went on our way, both of us walking her walk back to her patrol car.

It was about ten minutes later after riding in silence that I looked over at him and asked if she had seriously said it was reckless driving. It hadn't registered when we were actually sitting there with our mouths agape.

He ended up having to go back up there to go to court for it because of that. Funny because he didn't seem to care that much. It had made both of our day just being around that lady.

dude.....I drove though VA on my way to Johnstown up the Appalachian back in the 90's.....I laughed at all the roadside radars and the mothertruckin' england branch that fk'd me along the path haulin' arse....

guess what's not required in MS.....yeah, that tag on the front.....I'm certain there are pics with me flippin' 'em off......

Welcome back, Stinky. 04-rock

It's a pretty fricked up convoluted thing they came up with.

Back when (mostly) all States were forced to cap speeds at 55, Va decided to set reckless at 20 over, so 75.

When speeds were allowed to be increased they didn't do away with the 75 for reckless. So, if you're in a 45, but going 50 it wouldn't be reckless unless you're doing something else dumb. But yea, 81 in a 70 would be.

No real idea what a 78 in a 70 would be, likely the cop wouldn't even bother, I guess. No plans to find out, I chilled on the gas pedal long ago, don't want/need the hassle. That and I haven't replaced my Valentine RD yet.
