Will Archie Miller get canned by IU? You don't go under. 500 in Big Ten play with no NCAA appearances in four seasons without consequences in Bloomington with such a demanding fan base.

And they fired Crean despite him getting to three S16s.

That's not as bad as it sounds.

The color barrier for head coaches was broken in 1970 when Illinois State University hired Will Robinson. (Not a surprise, as ISU was the university founded by Abraham Lincoln's friends). Since 1971, there's only been 17 head coaches hired at any Kansas D-1 program.

If you want a more stunning stat about racism, how about this: the first black NFL general manager was in 2002.

Archie Miller could take a page from Steve Alford's career, and take the New Mexico job to avoid getting fired...

The America East tournament is underway, so some seasons have ended.

As posted above, Tommy Dempsey is out at Binghamton after his contract expired. Levell Sanders has been elevated from an assistant position to be the long term interim, and a full time hire will be made next Spring.

Will Brown and Albany have also parted ways after his contract expired. He had 5 NCAA appearances in 20 years, but had three straight losing seasons.

Denver had a horrible year, even by DU standards. Really bottom of the barrel team lately. 14 D1 wins in the last 3 years, smh.

Keep an eye on Dave Leitao at DePaul. I feel like his time in Chicago might have FINALLY run its course.

Too bad the previous AD had extended his contract to 2024. Do they really want to pay him for the next three years to not coach and pay someone else to coach?

I wish Jean Lenti-Ponsetto didn’t retire. She was a record-breaking AD.

JLP extended Leitao but the buyout is near zero. It was strictly a perception based extension that was only done for recruiting.

Her family members wish so too. They had great gigs for life.

Leitao’s final season at UVA (2009) was the worst that I can remember in watching the Cavaliers over the past 50 years. He was gracious, represented himself and the program well...but 10-18 was difficult on the program.

ESPN article yesterday on coaching moves mentioned DePaul as a possible opening.

Others listed as possibilities: Arizona, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas State, Miami, Minnesota, South Carolina, Utah.

He actually did well the first time at DePaul when they played at Rosemont Horizon...which is pretty much an unrecruitable venue by Big East standards. Surprised he hasn’t done well the second time, but it seems like it’s only a matter of time with his recruiting.

I think Bruce Weber has a little more time. But these days, who knows???

High drama at Creighton. Greg McDermott was recorded comparing his locker room to a plantation. He held a player vote as to whether or not to keep him, and they voted for him to stay, but the university just suspended him indefinitely.

If he goes, arguably the best coach in program history's out the door.
