Make 3 of the 12 missed free throws
Every player who is planning on coming back should MAKE 100 free throws a day from now til the beginning of next season. They should stop just throwing the ball up at the rim and think of free throws as earned shots! Til then there will be a lot more missed opportunities.

The worst FT shooter was from Memphis’ best player in the game. It has to be mental for Boogie who was 5-8 from 3 but only 4-10 from the line.

He should back up on free throws.

Haven't looked specifically but we likely missed enough FTs in each loss this season to be undefeated if made.

All those things happen but there are many 70% FT shooting teams. And just as many that avg less than 15 TOs/game. Just pointing out it doesn't take much improvement or more effort for this team to be a big winner.... Or Penny to be a better coach.

The clown that stopped watching at halftime is apparently a fan again. A couple of hours ago, they were so far below you, you couldn't even be bothered to support them.

Right! Let them think they'll be on ESPN and they'll try harder.

Memphis . . . the team that shoots its FT's from behind the arc.

Guaranteed SportsCenter.

I think he meant a couple inches---he tends to hit the back of the rim.

Do you really think that’s what they’re doing, just throwing it at the rim? Or that it’s not a focus in practice? Or that they don’t see the same game stats we do? They may be fine in practice, where the pressure of a game situation is difficult to simulate. Making 100 a day in a gym by yourself doesn’t help that.

It appears to be mental for some and apparently contagious. It’s like they freeze up when the pressure is on. I have no idea how they overcome that. Maybe they can find a free-throw whisperer.

It may be mental...

But I am more of the thought process that they need to put in more work.

Whatever it is they need to do to better their percentage, I’ll go out on a limb and say they’re not doing it.

RE: Make 3 of the 12 missed free throws
if I were Penny, I would find a FT instructor and make everybody shoot FTs until their hands bled all summer. Unfortunately, I doubt it would matter. In game situations, you have to focus, and have to overcome pressure and fatigue. You can't simulate those in practice. Ask CDR and D Rose.

Also, IMO, if Lomax had been in at the end of the 2 Houston games, I think we could have won both. Then things would look a helluva lot different this morning.

Steph Curry says he shoots 400-500 per day, focusing on "smart repetitions"

RE: Make 3 of the 12 missed free throws
With a cooler head today... We lost this game because of FT shooting.. We got killed on the boards, but didn't matter.. you made a few more FTs and we were going to the Big Dance.

The refs were actually trying to help us when it became obvious the AAC could be a one league team going to NCAA Tourney after Wichita St lost.. Let's be honest for a second, Williams should have fouled out at 10 minute mark of the 2nd half, but the refs spared his life.. Williams being Williams kept being stupid and they booted him 5 minutes later.
