Which is one reason I don’t like these metrics at times because at the end of the day winning games is what matters and sometimes the final score is closer due to the way end of game basketball plays out.
For UC the goal is to collect the most wins possible and then win the conference tournament.

Yep...we aren't making the tournament this year outside of a miracle run in the Confernece Tourney, so im ok with just winning some games with freshmen and sophomores starting to gel and not caring one lick about Ken Pom, NET, etc...that is for the years when we will be a tourney team fighting for a high seed, which is hopefully the next few.

Yep, this season is about getting better and winning ball games. If they really gel and can make a decent run in the conference tourney(hopefully they are all played) that will be a good test. I'm sure there will be no NIT or alternative given the covid, but if they play together and stick together that would be a solid season considering all the factors involved. I'm just curious to see how many regular season games we end up playing at this point.

Can they just play Temple every week? (Just kidding)
I was thinking/hoping that one of the Madsen's was going to come in and be one of those 3 pt sharpshooters we have craved for. It has been a pleasant surprise that Mason is giving the team much more. These past few games are looking like it just may be the tip of the iceberg of what he can contribute. If Gabe truly is the better player, and he decides to come back, that's just icing on the cake.

Just want to stress I don't really care what their kenpom ranking is either, but my point is their level of play really hasn't changed that much, just the competition they are playing. I consistently made the point that they weren't as bad as their record early in the year and I'm pointing out that these wins don't really show us they've improved that much. Whether they finish 92 or 68 in kenpom isn't that relevant to me (other than it likely means they played much better down the stretch if they get to 68), but I do like to evaluate how they are doing because that is relevant to the future.
Now here are the caveats... despite their level of play not being drastically different, they have had to deal with missing 25 days, a depleted roster and getting guys back in shape/used to playing together. Given the adversity I am thrilled with what they've done the last three games. However, if they are going to continue to win games, we're going to actually need to see a jump in their quality of play (which for them just means finding more consistency because they have really good stretches).

Wow, at 6-7, the Bearcat netters are at least bowl-eligible. Oh, wait...

The Bearcats have some players who are going to be very good.

After going 6-16 from 3 in his previous two games, DeJulius was 0-5 yesterday. He's shooting 21% on the year and 27.5% for his career. He's taking nearly five 3s a game this season. He's shooting over 50% on 2s for the year. I realize that he's got to keep people honest, but his shooting a 3 is a bad possession. He's very good at everything else on offense for a PG, and he's even a solid defender. At what point does he stop firing from deep so much?

He shot well from 3 before he got here. He absolutely needs to keep shooting until he regains that effectiveness. Too good of a player not to be a deep threat.

Yea he shot it poorly in very limited time as a freshman but shot 36% on 83 attempts last year. I want him shooting. Hopefully he figures it out.

Yea, he also shot the ball well in high school from the perimeter. There's a lot of guys struggling this year from long range. Honestly, he seems to have shot the ball better this year away from home. He has a good shot from a form standpoint. There are guys who do not. I'd say he's also the best ft shooter we have as well.
