Tournament will be in Cleveland and will allow some fans for the semis and finals for both men and women. General public will not be allowed for the quarters on Wednesday and Thursday.

"Tournament will be in Cleveland and will allow some fans for the semis and finals for both men and women."
excellent!!

way too early bracket for the men's side:

1. toledo
8. Ball State

4. ohio
5. buffalo

3. the good guys
4. BGSU

2. akron
7. miami

my secret plan.. miami knocks-off akron 03-shhhh
secret plan part 2: get some revenge vs toledo in MAC Final 05-mafia

only thing that can mess-up my plan: BGSU beats us in the 1st round 03-weeping

UB prevails over akron in OT.
wow, this has been a great mac tournament for everyone (except KSU!)

should be a great game tomorrow.
i'm going with the hot hand (OU) to win.

whoever draws OU in NCAA tournament better be ready! :)
2 teams in green to root for in NCAA tournament (CSU vikings being the other.) will also be rooting for appalachian state (wife graduated from there.)

kinda bummed my UCONN huskies lost vs creighton, but they should get an at-large bid. will be rooting for the UCONN women too! :)

soooo looking forward to selection sunday! :)

question: which teams that are projected to make the NCAA tournament do you dislike the most? (will root way hard for the upset)

me: UNC, ohio state & michigan

Agree on the OSU (both the one in OH and the one in OK) & UNC

No love for the second generation Flash at OSU, Meechie Johnson Jr? Not much of a factor yet. He graduated early and joined the team mid season so he could benefit from the free year.

I can’t root against Ohio St. I live in Ohio. I think you guys will be happy though as they haven’t finished the season very strong. Probably lost a top scorer to a concussion yesterday.

I’m rooting against the women’s Stonybrook team. Kent’s Asiah Dingle transferred there (really hurt our guard position this year) and low and behold they made the tourney. I hate when that happens.

RE: 2021 MAC Tournament
Bowling Green down 12 with 5 to go in the third quarter of the women’s game. BG was up about 6 near the end of the half and then the wheels came off. Why do so many very good players go to the hinterlands of Michigan but we can’t recruit as well? What ever happened to Amy Sherry, Dawn Zerman, Ann Forbes, Lindsey Shearer etc. Used to pull decent players from Europe too. Heck we out recruited Sherry from Connecticut’s Rebecca Lobo team. I know the landscape of women’s basketball is different but it’s not nearly as crazy as the men’s game. Most players stay four years, you can actually get top teams to come to Kent, etc.

While I was typing BG cut the lead to 4. Very good high paced game. Now it’s 1 with 2 minutes to go in the 3rd. These teams actually shoot well!!

All great players ... but I think the most impactful player ever at Kent was Chase ... Andrea Caesar. She transferred before her senior year, I believe to get married to a ski athlete in Montana somewhere. She actually played again later, professionally.

Only for one year though. Those 9 blocks in a MAC tournament game were impressive. She looked like she had suction cups on her hands. I forgot Julie Studer who passed on Michigan St. and played 4 years. She could even score against the big girls. Twenty some points against a 4 seed Iowa St in Ames in the NCAA. Her and Zerman were quite the team.

Physical basketball rises to the top of the MAC. Lots of Grit on the floor the last two nights in Cleveland. Looks familiar. It would be nice to see grit return to the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center.

Jason Preston is an NBA player masquerading as a MAC PG.

Very little chance. He better put on a lot of weight. And get a lot better. There have been many MAC guards WAY better than Preston who never got a real look.

Not that this means all that much, but NBAdraft.net has had Preston as a mid second rounder most of the year. At some point they decided to move him to next year's class but still have him as a second rounder. Very rare that MAC players make the mocks. A couple good games in the tournament could turn heads. Not often you see a college player averaging 7rpg and 7 apg.

As for his weight, 6'4" 187 is fine for the NBA. Weight is overrated for guards. To put it in perspective, CJ Mccollum is 6'3" 190. There are plenty of guards who come into the league with the knock "he needs to put on some weight" and they have long solid careers without ever putting on weight. Will Barton is one that comes to mind.

I'm pretty sure that's what the "experts" said about JP having a chance to play college ball when he was in high school.
