The top paid streamer signed a $100 million dollar deal with Microsoft a couple of years ago. Before that he was pulling down $400,000 a month from one platform alone (and had endorsements with adidas, Nike, gaming companies, and more for even more $$$).

I personally don’t get the appeal but there’s $ and universities will find a way to cash in on it and use it as a tool to get more students in the door.
