Bledsoe did NOT want to play with Wall. That's revisionist history. Cal had to get Bledsoe on board before Wall's announcement for the exact opposite reason. Had Cal gotten Wall first, Bledsoe would have been BOH.

He recruited guys already at Memphis, according to Witherspoon.

He indicated that if the school didn't hire his guy, he would burn it down. Pick whatever word you want.

There are things that are true, that you just shouldn't go around saying. The thing about the tv's is one of those.

As most are saying...I have no problem with Cal leaving. My feelings were hurt at the time, but I got over it. But he owns the way he left, and that did burn bridges.

As I recall from the radio guy, Cal only went after Bledsoe in retaliation for Josh not backing off Xavier Henry, who Cal was recruiting after we let him out of his Letter of Intent.

Joe Jackson is another. Cal showed courtesy interest in Joe while he as here. Many said Cal would not sign him. However, when he got to UK, Cal went after him much harder.

I also forgot that him and the wife cleaned out every remaining dollar left on his clothing allowance a couple of days before he left. Perfectly allowable, but not exactly classy.

I don't think so. I think that Tom Izzo and Billy Donovan were real candidates. That's why, once we got down in the Missouri game at half time and early in the 2nd, Cal wasn't terribly disappointed to lose. He was able to get to the table with UK before the other 2 coaches whose teams were still playing. I'm sure his (Memphis) recruiting class was part of his pitch.

I agree about the Missouri game. I don't think there was any question his mind was on ol' blue at that point. I never blamed him for leaving - it's Kentucky. Just how it all went down still leaves a sour taste.

I think it's a great idea, under certain conditions. For the next 5 years, let's hear Cal talk about how he loved coaching Derrick Rose, Tyreke, Antonio Anderson; Carney, Dozier, Massie, Dorsey and CDR; how his teams played great defense, how great our fans were and how he loved Memphis. If he does that, let's welcome him back with open arms, announce that he's at the game, and have him wave to the crowd 30 seconds before one of our home games.
