His record is early heavy. From 2010-15, in six seasons they made 4 final fours, in one of them they made the final and in another one they won it all. They also had an Elite 8 and an NIT. Really good stuff. John Wall, Anthony Karl Towns and Anthony Davis were number one draft picks

Since then

No final fours. Some elite eights but a major drop from those earlier years so the natives are restless insane. The trend hurts them

Who knows what their wacko fans think. They were primed for a deepish run last year after finishing 25-6. The three years before that consisted of three S16s and two E8s. Two top 7 finishes. This year gets an * and they’ll (as always) be prominently ranked heading into next year. He’s not going anywhere unless he wants to.

Why does this year get an * ?

Because that buys Pastner another year.

GT can't afford to buy him out. that's what buys him another year.

They not happy with Josh now after they stole him from us?

The team is bad this year. Other than that, in his time at Kentucky, they own more NCAA Tournament wins (31), Final Four appearances (8), Elite Eight berths (7) and Sweet 16 showings (8) than any other school. It’s going to take much much more than one bad year for Kentucky to even entertain the thought of parting with that golden goose.

It would be preposterous for him to be in trouble

I never missed a Monday night radio show when he was coach. No coach promoted the University and the city like Cal, not just talking about basketball, academics and other things.

I hope he comes back to Memphis one day with the final four team and our fans give a roaring ovation of applause.

Pffffffftttt. I wouldn't get your hopes up on him ever receiving a roaring ovation. He can go @#$# himself and "sit at the kids table."

Not just a Cal thread. The OP wonders how Cal will make it through this season without getting fired or quitting, and other bozos that claim that he is a pathetic underachiever.

Cal is a lot of things but underachiever is not one of them.

Cal is a lot of things but underachiever is not one of them.

12 of of the last 15 seasons, ranked no worse than #9. According to some, this is worthy of claiming that he does less with more. The OP, in addition to wondering how Cal will survive this season, thinks that we should "give the keys" to Nolley and make him our point guard. 03-lmfao01-wingedeagle

Everyone in this board would've left Memphis for Kentucky had they been in Cal's shoes. Did he leave abruptly? Sure. But he ain't no underachiever.

No one debates that almost anyone would leave Memphis to coach Kentucky. Who cares that he left abruptly?

Calipari left here the same way KJ Lawson left here. That is why we don't like him.

Please add your "WHO?" here. It applies equally to both parties.

- Went after Bledsoe, when he had no interest in him when he was here
- Recruited current players to transfer out with him
- Tried to extort the school by forcing Kellogg or Barbee on us
- Reported us to the NCAA infractions committee
- After we came within an EW shot to beat #1 Kansas in our first game without him, his comment was about how bad Kansas played
- Saying he didn't have to sell tickets and tv's
- Saying if he recruited 21 players at Kentucky he would get 21 commitments

Almost nobody on this board would have left the same way. When all is said and done, the most remarkable thing about Cal is how insecure he is. Spite and pettiness rank a close second and third.

Have you ever left a job the way that Calipari did, burning all bridges? I certainly haven't. I have always left in such a way that I would always be welcome back if circumstances allowed it.

Probably not. We can debate his actions all day. He left for a better job, happens all the time. He didn't need to **** in the ice cream maker when he left. I get that. But spreading conspiracy theories that he reported us to the NCAA infractions committee on Wiseman is laughable at best.

He reported us within a year or two of leaving for Kentucky. No idea on Wiseman. Cal wasn't recruiting Bledsoe while he was here and when Wall was on board. You are missing the point. Taken as standalone comments and actions, you can maybe excuse one of them, and that is a big maybe. All of them are bad, uncalled for, and extremely mean spirited.

He didn't even have to go out of his way to be kind and it would have been seen as gracious and classy. Instead, he went the other route. He was spiteful, vindictive and petty. How a man like him can be so insecure is mind boggling.

Glad we're on the same page. I was about to say. Someone ratted to the NCAA on us. But it wasn't Cal. It was however a coach in this state. When did Cal report us?

Bledsoe wanted to play with Wall. Was he supposed to say not to him?
- Recruited current players to transfer out with him
He recruiting recruits that hadn't enrolled. happens everywhere.
- Tried to extort the school by forcing Kellogg or Barbee on us
Extort is a big word. The school wasn't close to hiring either.
- Reported us to the NCAA infractions committee
Uh wat?
- After we came within an EW shot to beat #1 Kansas in our first game without him, his comment was about how bad Kansas played
Kansas did play a bad game against us.
- Saying he didn't have to sell tickets and tv's
He doesn't.
- Saying if he recruited 21 players at Kentucky he would get 21 commitments
Didn't John Robic say that? Not Cal.

We're not on the same page at all. You think there is nothing wrong with his actions since he left; I think the opposite. We were reported in either 2010 or 2011 with quite a few people I know, saying it was Cal. Was it? No idea, but according to many, it was.

On an unrelated note, I do know for a fact that he was offered the Raptors job some time between 2009-2011.

I figure he'll run for president at some point. If Tuberville can be a senator, he can certainly best that.
