If J Wade was getting a big chunk of Green’s minutes we’d be dangerous. Oh well. I’m down to let hunter get more of those minutes, or Long. Green is too far gone at this point.

Only thing we can hope is that curry and wade stick around to run it back.

I think if we had hit our FT's a little better we would have won by 5 or so in regulation. Left 10 points at the stripe. Otherwise we looked more consistent on offense to my eye. Had some lulls but started out really strong with Kalu. He was like 7 or 8 to start the game with 3 and 1's. Was beasting down low.

After finishing the game it's pretty clear Green is in the game for 42 minutes for his defense. He did get a couple of good passes but also tossed the ball away and was responsible for 4 turnovers and involved in a couple more. You can see he's clearly highly frustrated. Either he wasn't in position a couple of times or someone else was and he does the palms up like wtf guys. Not sure if it's him or those around him.

There's no way, I think, in this environment to really determine game outcomes. I'm happy with each and every win, and I marvel at people who constantly use the "We got lucky " whenever we win.

I didnt even know there was a game last night. :( CUSA is usually on Thurs, Fri or Sat. Guess I'll try to watch the replay. Sounds like a nail biter with good performances by Ezikpe, Curry and Trice. Glad we got the win.

RE: Charlotte week
That was a fun game. That was incredible, we shot 62% from the field and 74% from 2 point range. We almost lost because of turnovers and them shooing almost 50% from 3, which has been a problem all year.

Mekhi Long hit a huge 3, glad to see him working his way in. Kalu/Trice are killing teams down low.

I would hammer the under next game.

They went away from Kalu in 2nd half. Was this due to CLT defense? He was unstoppable early on. Really like his game. Trice is a little more limited, but still has a very nice under the goal game. IF we had a 3 point shooter to kick out to, we'd actually be pretty good.

I really think Reece, Trice, Ezipke, Curry and Oliver should be the starting line up. That would give us our strongest front court with Shanu, Long, Green & Pilavios coming off the bench for relief. I know JJ doesn't like to play Ezipke & Trice at the same time because he doesn't want to play Shanu, but I feel you put your best and strongest team on the court.

This would kill any offensive spacing. Reece also should not be guarding peremiter players. You cant have Ezikpe and Trice both taking up space inthe paint.

Big players play 20-25 minutes so both Kalu and Trice can get enough minutes.

THey doubled him.

Also - - and I realize that this is a suspect source for some - - in his postgame interview Coach Jones was effusive regarding how well Kalu played but said that he was gassed by the end of the game. Coach also said that Kalu needs to know how much the team counts on him and play through the pain.

In responding to Ted's observation that Kalu had helpfully kept the fouls to a minimum last night, Coach Jones mentioned a play in the latter part of the first half where Kalu let his man go right by. When Jones went to speak with him about it at next game break, Kalu reportedly said "I know, Coach, I know. But I didn't want to pick up my second." Jones was okay with that. At least how he tells it.

I like to hear that. Be in good defensive position, but if you are not, don't foul just because. Sounds like he has matured some. Now if he can start making them pay for doubling him. It would help if whoever man went to double would cut to the basket or at least get in position to receive a pass. Most of the time he's forced to throw it back out top.
