A week. His weekly and semi weekly interviews were where I got AAC scoops and nuggets. Seems like he just info dumped some days...until Aresco smacked his hand toward the end. Ah, the good old days.

LOL. Yeah, I was being SLIGHTLY facetious.

His PR issues to me were he refused LOTS of interview requests, he appeared to say a number of dumb and/or incorrect things, and he didn't seem to have much of a handle on Memphis history. He also convinced most Memphis basketball fans that he hated basketball.

Not to mention him not being able to keep his mouth shut.

And...he and Rudd didn't get along. I honestly think near the end, Rudd started withholding info from him.

PR - "public" relations. If you weren't important to Tom Bowen there was no relationship.

I can pretty much vouch for that.

A lot of smoke regarding Terry Mohajir (our new AD) leaving for the Kansas job. His buyout is about 2.5 million. Kind of sucks, but the extra money would be nice and we would likely promote Carr who is very qualified for the job.

As far as Gus, he’s staying. He turned down the Arkansas job in the past and only came here because we’re built to win. Kansas is a disaster in football. It kind of sucks we can’t have stability at the AD position, but the 2.5 million won’t hurt and we have an AD basically ready with Carr. We’ll see what happens

Carr is overrated. He’s just the deputy, which doesn’t mean he’s the right fit for being the boss. Mark Wright is the internal guy with all the booster relationships and would make more sense than Carr for that reason. I’ve heard that the legit top boosters have no clue who Carr is. But if we do go with an “internal “ hire, I bet it will be Eric Wood, who recently left UCF to be AD at Louisiana Tech.

That said, I don’t think TMo is going anywhere, and this “smoke” is just the media throwing out names that have an association with Kansas but no other evidence to support them being a candidate.

Eric Wood would be awesome, that’s the guy I wanted before we hired Terry. As far as the other internal hires, who ever is most qualified let it be so. I think Terry mentioning in the past that Kansas is his dream job makes this a possibility. Obviously Kansas is a dumpster fire, but this feels like Scott Frost 2.0 imo. Either way I think we will be fine. Thanks for the additional info on which guys internally are qualified, I didn’t know that much detail

If he jumps it will be easy $$ and the contract looks like can not be negotiated down by cheap KS. If he leaves so be it, I beat we can just offer to runnerup. 1 Mth 2.5M, at this rate we will expand our IPF too.

Another 2.5 million would be nice and I'm sure we would find a good replacement, although I do like Terry and hope he stays. Thankfully we already did an AD search so we're ready just in case
