RE: Spring FCS/NAIA Football
Brutal, you ain't kidding. Oddly, we just moved into a house a few houses away from the Roosevelt, formerly Robert Morris, stadium in Arlington Heights. Sure enuf, in the single digit cold on Saturday, I see a few buses pull up, and the lights on, and hear the public address announcer making play by play calls. The game was on and I could hear the hitting and the teams yelling. It was actually cool to watch and hear, best I could from a snowbank, the stadium was closed to everyone but players and staff. I really only spent only a few minutes trying to find a viewing angle, it was too cold. It's artificial turf, but it looked like concrete. Foot work was slow, but I was surprised to see both teams didn't mind throwing the ball.
I see these dudes out there every other day, practicing in similar conditions, and I hear some enthusiasm. That makes me look forward to next season, and warmer days.
It might be the best part of getting this new house...but don't tell that to my wife pls.
