They did something a much better team last year could not do which is win at Tulane. Have to give them credit. I give Martin a little bit of props as i think his nice assist and charge he took kind of set an example. We didn't turn the ball over near as much in the second half. JD didn't play much in the second half.
Only got to see the second half after church. Wasn't it supposed to be a 1 PM start? Or was that 1 P< central time?
Another enjoyable half to watch, much like Thursday.
Hated how we could get raped under the basket without a call, but got called on the other end. At least Vogt earned his fouls with solid, aggressive D, not little touch fouls like Eason was getting called on him.
Good to see Williams come through as the #1 guy on offense with DDJ not looking so hot today. Though KW's defense seemed to take a step back from his effort at the end of Thursday's game.

Overall, a sloppy but tough team effort.
I don't know if I would call 20 points on 21 shots coming through as the #1 guy. We probably have a few people who would score that many points with that many shots. Williams has been terribly inefficient this year and we can't have our game go through him if we want to keep winning games.
Williams is averaging lower 2p%, 3p%, FT%, assists, DRB, ORB, and blocks than last year. He also has almost .5 more turnovers and fouls a game. The only thing he's better in is steals which is by .1

There's no doubt in my mind we have the talent advantage, even without Harvey and Dou.
if williams could learn to bank some shots in when he's close by , then he could score a lot more points. He is more effective if he dunked more often. Not having talented big men on the team is hurting Williams. Now they concentrate more on defending him.
Tulane and Temple aren't good, but this team could have easily lost those games, and losses can snowball and really crush a team. Great to see them pull these games out, especially under the circumstances.

I think the other thing is there is a learning curve for non experienced guys winning games so it would be real nice for next year to get that out of the way and retain the kids with a lot more confidence.

UC more than any other school misses the home court advantage. The record probably looks different if the crowd was able to be there for those early home losses. I don’t feel that way about the last games as Temple and Tulane are not know for huge intimidating crowds.
